Turning Back Time

I was so caught up in all the wonderful characters that Graphic 45's collection contain I did not see the crossing of stories.  Do you see it?  LOL

I was working with Graphic 45's Hallowe'en in Wonderland and as I was setting up the design I saw my pack of chipboard elements from The Magic of Oz and added them to the layout.

LOL I didn't see what I had done until I sat down to write this blog post.  Talk about interesting.

The photo was no mistake.  During my cleaning (HUGE project) I found a very damaged photo of my daughter at our first family church.   My husband said I should throw it away saying I could not even scan it.  The photo looked like it had encountered water and was scratched.

With a little patience and Photoshop Elements I was able to clean it up enough to use it for this scrapbook layout.

The reason I love the photo is it reminds me so much of her little girl.

Graphic 45's Magic of Oz chipboard and Hallowe'en in Wonderland.  Note:  Tin Man is in a frame that the Wicked Witch was in.  I popped out the center of the chipboard and layered and popped the image of the Tin Man in the frame.

Tim Holtz's Idea-ology Timepieces, Spinners, and Tim's Sizzix Alteration Weathered Clock.   I rubbed in a bit of  Snow Cap Dabber paint to make the clock numbers pop.

Clock faces from the internet printed on photo paper.

This was so much fun despite the fact I mixed up my characters.  I say it still works!

  5. This layout is Fabulous! I love all the layers & paper piecing! You know, it looks like those papers belong together (even if they are different stories)...I guess that is part of the awesomeness of Graphics 45. Thanks for sharing -Amanda

  6. Very awesome layout. I would do, have done the same thing with photos that met with water and other disasters. We took pictures back in the day but didn't usually do repeats, if you know what I mean...so usually just one shot was all you got. You did an amazing job cleaning up that photo. I need to learn how to use Photoshop!

  8. Hi, Debby! Kudos to you (and PhotoShop) for working to repair that beloved photo! Always worth the time, I feel! I like the phrase: Imperfection is the new perfection! It really doesn't matter if the end result of your efforts is not perfect! In my early days, I had to have everything match and be symmetrical. Not so today, and, for this, I love your mixed collections of G45! Beautiful piece of art!

  9. Fab layout Deb! Great picture. I don't have photoshop. But I have an old grainy torn pic of my boys grandparents. I have scanned it in. But don't have the tools to fix it. Do you think it would Require PS? Thanks Debbie
