Running To Catch Up // December Daily 1-5

With the Craft and Hobby Winter Show happening early this season I've been scrambling to catch up with all my crafty projects.  I hope you are as excited as I am at the new product lines coming out.  Have you seen a favorite already?  Leave a link in the comment section.  I'd love to see too!

I participated in Ali Edwards December Daily this past year once again.  Once again, I could not leave it to be simple.  LOL  One year I'm going to buy the kit and just do it and no more.  It's harder than it seems.  Hats off to those who did.

I ended up with two books, two pages for each day, and one insert per day with the date of that page.  This year I used Graphic 45's Nutcracker Sweet, May Arts Ribbon (large percent), X-ACTO, American Crafts cardstock, and a Sizzix die or two.  Along with my "leftover" stash from years gone by.

No big "how to," but I'll point out something I thought was special every now and then.  It was according to how I felt that day to how detailed I got with the pages.

Several Notes:  I added the story of the Nutcracker on the bottom of the second page everyday.  Little and I went at the beginning of the season and I wanted to preserve the story for her.  I journaled on every day, but I did go through and blurred certain details for my grand-girls.

Here we go:
The number is a printout from the internet.  The file was several years old and as far as I can tell it has been deleted.  Underneath is a scalloped circle from Fiskars squeeze punch ... folded in half.  I will show you how it is displayed later.

Day 1 Birthday Party

Day 2 Fun day with Ali

Day 3  The babies ended up at the doctor's office this day.  I had my photo planned, but like any good memory keeper you go with the flow.  I nicely asked the doctor if I could take a photos.  Other than thinking I was funny .. Ha Ha funny ... she did great.

Day 4  Day at the zoo, Little Bean's first trip.

Day 5  Special day of doing for others.  Later of course Jingles showed up having made a mess of Little's play room!

All the journaling was typed on my vintage typewriter.

Excuse a bit of mess around the blog.  I'm updating for the new year.  Also I've turned off the Anonymous comments due to an overwhelming amount of spam that hit the blog right as the 12 Days of Home for the Holidays ended.  That doesn't mean you can't comment.  OpenID is a choice to leave a comment ... along with others that already have different types of accounts.  OpenID is ideal for those who don't have a set account online.  You create your own user name and password.  There is a link on the right side of the blog for you to explore.  This is a free service.

Have a Crafty Day!
