Using Your Foundation Paper As Your Elements!

I love beautifully designed paper.  I often try to work around it so it can show off the intricate designs.   I will add a few elements that work with the theme.  This time it was different.

Earth Day with Little

I worked with the intention of using the design as elements.  The paper from Blue Fern Studios had several designs and one in particular that I wanted to work into.  Printed on the paper are two dangle designs.  I added Blue Fern Studios chipboard dangles painted with Gesso into the existing design.  I love how they compliment each other and enhance the overall design of the page.

Secondly I wanted to work with the whole lower left corner with the flowers, and spring work.  I wanted continue the flowing movement so I added Prima's crystals, and Basic Grey rub-ons.  I added the flowers from Prima along with the little element "care" to add to the theme of the layout.

Of course Spring cries of new green leaves on the trees.
  • I painted the chipboard (Blue Fern Studios) with Gesso.
  • Then I painted the branches and leaves with Distress Inks from Tim Holtz.  I just squeezed some out on my mat and used a fine tip brush and painted it on.
  • After it dried I added embossing ink with a sponge in small areas and added Tim's Distress Embossing Powder to highlight the leaves.

The last touch comes from 7Gypsies with the bird.  One thing I kept in mind while added all these elements was to work within the design especially the circle with "Timeless Beauty."  I was really pleased with the end results.

As you can tell I'm dreaming of Spring!

Have A Crafty Day!
