52 Weeks of Homemade Families, Week 1

52 Weeks of Homemade Families, Week 1. That is just weird but exciting to type. Everyone has been sending me emails asking how hard is this Dare Ya! I nearly went nuts trying to do my first two pages. I was always advised to “find my style” and stick with it. This is not my comfort zone, but certainly I don’t believe that I have to stick to one “style,” but I would rather stretch my comfort zone and learn something new.

I had 25 of the 52 prompts completed when I was looking through my family families and when this question hit me. Do I still have my first cookbook? Certainly! My Aunt Pat at my wedding shower gave my first cookbook to me many moons ago. We still use it quiet a bit. Our favorite recipe from the Good Housekeeping Cookbook is Sugar Cookies; page 567!

My first, from scratch recipe was homemade bread. Not machine bread, but put your shoulder into bread! For the first year I made homemade breads. Yeast bread, jellyrolls, dinner rolls, etc. LOL Poor Jimmy had to eat them all.

When you finish your project. Leave a comment on this post with a link to where you posted it. I would ask that you post (or also post) your project on Dare 2 Dream. It makes it easier for everyone to leave feedback and ask questions about your recipe.

You are definitely inspiring me with this 2010 dare! Had to go look up my first cookbook and will (hopefully) post my page later today after I get it done.

I've posted my first cookbook pages on my page at Dare 2 Dream. I'm not a fancy scrapper, but am pretty pleased with what I've done for this first week!

  3. I posted my first Dare Ya pages at Dare 2 Dream. I created a separate album under my own page. Is there a central album that I should have added them in?
    Thanks!
