Dreams Do Come True: Glue Dots® Adhesives Dottess Project

I'm certainly enjoying the wonderful world of Glue Dots® Adhesives and sharing my work with you.  My favorite way to use Glue Dots® Adhesives is to create a collage with my flowers or other embellishments on my scrapbook pages.  Believe it or not I'm still working on my daughter's wedding photos so I took this opportunity to create instructions on some of the ways I use my Glue Dots® Adhesives.

Supplies
Glue Dots® Adhesives
     Glue Dots® pop up
     Glue Dots® memory book
     Glue Dots® mini
Paper:  Prism Lustre cardstock
DMC Embroidery Thread, Silver
Embellishments:  Prima Say it in Crystals Swirl With Lace White; Prima Mulberry Paper Butterfly Vines; Prima Fabric Fancies Aquamarine
Letters:  K & Company Black Filigree Alphabet; Websters Pages Storytellers Home for Holidays
Tools:  Sewing Machine

Create holes for hand sewing by running your cardstock through a sewing machine without it being threaded.  Hand sew with silver embroidery thread.  Tip:  after you stitch your boarder add acid free scrapbooking tape to the back to keep wear and tear to the holes from happening over time.

Adhere a 4 x 6 photo to your cardstock using Glue Dots® memory book adhesive.

Place Prima’s Say it with Crystals Swirl with Lace on one side of the photo.  Snip apart the Prima Mulberry Paper butterflies, leaves, and curls.  Add the butterflies to the crystals using Glue Dots® pop ups.

Add Glue Dots® memory book adhesive to the center of each solid flower.  Press on Our Craft Lounge Sparkly Fluff to the adhesive creating a soft center for each flower.  The Sparkly Fluff seems to last forever.

Place Glue Dots® memory book dots on the back of each flower and place them in a cascading form from the crystals to the stitches.  Leave space in between the flowers to place the lightweight flowers, leaves and curls.

With each of the lighter flowers add a Glue Dots® mini in the center and fold in half.  Add another Glue Dots® mini on center edge and place it in between the flowers already adhered to the cardstock.  Continue to fill in the spaces with the light flowers, leaves and curls.  Add Glue Dots® memory book dots to the curls by rolling the curl over the dot, wrapping it around the stem.

Complete your layout with your title and sub-title.  Tip:  Even if the chipboard letters have adhesive on them already I always add a little more strength to them by adding Glue Dots® Adhesives memory book dots.

I love using my Glue Dots® Adhesives to create collage effects on my layouts.  It’s a sure way to know that my collage will stay where I place it.  Once I’m on a roll I don’t like to stop and wait for liquid (wet) adhesive to dry before moving on to the next item in my collage making.

I wrote this blog post while participating on the Glue Dots® design team.
