A Twist To My Journey

Second Saturday of each month I host a free crop in Lexington, SC.  I'm usually fluttering here, there, and everywhere and do not get to scrapbook.  This past Saturday I was determined to create a few layouts.

I have a studio and then some full of papercrafting products.  I learned Saturday that maybe having too much can squash your creativity.  I grabbed a few photos and filled up my tote with paper, embellishments, ink, TOOLS, and headed out to the crop.  The beginning was the hardest.  I kept thinking what I had at home.  After a while I became determined to use what I had no matter what.  I ended up with three cute layouts to share this week.  I was really satisfied and excited about using just what was in my tote to create fun layouts.   This is an interesting discovery along my journey.

I think maybe my journey is not back to where I was but to find a better motivation and inspiration than I had before.

The photo/layout is part of my daughter's wedding album.  These are some candid shots of her and her "girls."

  2. Your layout is great Debby.
I find that to be the hardest also, in using what you take and knowing what to take to a crop or a friends.

  7. I have to agree, Deb! Sometimes, "too much" can be a distraction, rather than an ispiration. Too many choices, too many colors, too many papers, too many flowers, too many stamps. If I think first that I want to use this stamp set and these colors, I can zero in on an idea and get really excited and inspired, but it's all fun!
