Question of the Day
Do you have a Junk Drawer? Jim and I have always had a junk in our home. It's usually on the cabinet drawers inthe kitchen and it is full of odds and ends that have no place to go. Some of the antique shops here sell "Junk Drawer Starter Kit!" I laughed so hard the first time I saw these. A Mason Jar is decorated and filled with old buttons, safety pins, and more.
I have a crafty "Junk Drawer." When 7gypies came out with their printer trays I bought several. I could not resist using one for my crafty Junk Drawer. I lined each compartment with paper. It sits next to the space I use for scrapbooking.
What happens is when I have an odd or end item it goes there. If I find a one piece item I may throw it in the printers tray. Sometimes I just want the item closer to my crafting to inspire me. Often I'm working on a piece and "Aha" moment happens and I use something from the tray.
Question of the Day: "What are three items in your 'junk drawer.'" Let me know by leaving a comment and for another opportunity to enter the drawing.
Have a great Crafty Day!

ReplyDeleteThat crafty junk drawer is awesome!!! :)
ReplyDeleteCharacter buttons, crocheted flowers, and random chipboard letters... I could go on and on...lol... Thanks for the awesome give-a-ways!!
ReplyDeleteMy craft junk drawer has some chipboard, broken jewelry, fishing line, hemp, beads, you name it I have it stuffed in there!! I would love to win some Copics! Thanks so much for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI have several. One in the kitchen, dining room and bathroom. When I need spare change or nails, I go to the kitchen, and when I need rubber bands, I go to the DR china cabinet and when I need hair binders or little bottles of shampoo, I rifle through the bathroom drawer!
ReplyDeleteWe are what you might call surface challenged, meaning if it's flat, it's full. So, no, I don't have a junk drawer. It keeps my drawers somewhat neater. Althought that means that this kind of stuff needs a home and I'm still working on that. I have a basket that sit on one of my counters that collects a few misc items, but I clean it out almost every day. We just added an area by the back door that includes three hooks, and two eighteen inch shelves where I keep one tub for items to return to the garage and one for the studio. It's not a perfect answer, but its working better than anything before.
ReplyDeleteNow my crafting is different! I have a rolling tool box (you know, the big red kind?) and each top drawer is lined with no skid liners and there are trays and trays of divided items similar to your printer tray Debbie.
omg i have way too many junk drawers hahaaa i have a reg one and a crafty one and one in the bathroom and it's really sad!!

ReplyDeleteWhat do i have in my junk drawer i have quilt binding, high lighters, rubber bands, glue stick's and guazes.
ReplyDeleteWould you believe we don't have any junk drawers? I am so prone to collecting things that I intentionally keep the drawers organized - or else we would be overrun by things! :o)
ReplyDeleteI am already a follower!
ReplyDeleteIn my junk draw I have a bunch of diet coke plastic lids, key chains, some instructions for something I threw away years ago. Thanks Debby!

Spare keys, leftover Lego pieces, and magnets. And I am beginning to realize I may need Copic markers. :)
ReplyDeleteA junk drawer, how about many junk drawers :) there are nails, screws, tape measure, scissors (Fiskars of course), emery board, tape, paper (not the fun kind) and all kinds of keys. I wish I had a junk drawer like yours!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower and love it! Thanks for all your inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a blog I would post about you! but I'll tell my friends to look you up :)
ReplyDeleteWe have several junk drawers. I have one on my craft table too, but nothing like you have! Mine has erasers, paper clips, alcohol pads, a roll of purple mesh and other miscellaneous necessities!
ReplyDeleteI am a follower. I am sorry I mentioned more than three things in the junk drawer - I tend to get carried away!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I want to congratulate Peachy Laura! I am always so happy to see someone win for the first time! She will be doing the happy dance for sure!
The first three things I pulled out of our junk drawer was one AA battery (not sure if it is dead or alive), a ballpoint pen (with no ink), and a dried cat treat (my three calico girls are looking up at me from the floor with the same question in their eyes "Are you going to eat that?"
ReplyDeleteIn my junk drawer I have yarn, embroidery thread, and some very old cross stitch patterns!!!! Thanks for the chance again:)
ReplyDeleteSharing it on Facebook and Twitter!!! I need to add more to my junkdraw!!!! Yours looks fun:)
ReplyDeleteI am a follower ofcourse!!!
ReplyDeleteI posted on my blog with a link back to this post. Thank you, Debby, for another chance to win!
ReplyDeleteYes, we have a junk drawer in the kitchen. LOL. It is full of just about anything.
ReplyDeleteThanks for another chance to win. I never win anything so I hope to win. :)
Posted link on facebook. Thanks again for another chance. :)
ReplyDeleteYes I have a junk drawer in my kitchen!! It is filled with different misc. things.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of using the printer tray for a junk drawer on my table! I usually have pins, buttons and pieces of thread in my junk drawer.
ReplyDeleteThat crafty junk drawer is looking so pretty that I was thinking to make it and keep it in my room...!!!
ReplyDeleteour main junk drawer is filled with broken toy parts, batteries and old keys. My scrap drawer is filled with jewellery parts, glue bottle tips and pennies of all things. I hate these drawers, but I'd love some copic markers as I have NONE - TFS DEBBIE
ReplyDeleteI have a crafty junk bucket (instead of a drawer) - 3 things in it would be some buttons, a piece of metal I picked up off the ground, and a small old drawer pull/handle!
ReplyDeleteLol, that's going to be hard because my "Junk Drawer" is cluttered! But my three items would be: a calligraphy pen, kneaded eraser, and Manga pens.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win! :D
That is a great idea of setting out a junk drawer. One of my junk drawers holds my doilies, lace and buttons.
ReplyDeleteI think most of my drawers are junk drawers. My kitchen junk drawer holds scissors, ruler and rubber bands.
ReplyDeletei've got thread, needles, lots of randoms. Rulers sponges...its soooo random!!
