And the LOVE Continues

I'm excited about our month of LOVE. It has been fun to see everyone's creations and how some of you really stretched yourself to complete the challenges. RitaS joined in late but got it in. this layout was done for a friend who has a special needs child. I think it is great. All the layouts and cards were over the top. You gave me ideas on how I can use sewing on my cards espeically.

Without further ado the winner is ................. "I Can Do This. LO" Congratulations! Send me your address via my email at DeborahL591@yahoo.com. I'm leaving the slide show up for another day while you work on the next challenge. I really want everyone to enjoy the hard work you did for this challenge.

On a Personal Note:
I had a blast at CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) trade show. I met so many online friends, scrapbooking celebrities, made new friends and saw tons of new products. I'm drooling right now as I think of them. Kelly Polsons' line with Fiskars is going to be a blast! The new punches with Fiskars are to die for. I have the Ribbon and Stitching punches. But I'm so dying for the new punches that will do the corner as well as the boarder. Yikes, they are so great!! Fiskars has another new product line called Ink. I have the "My Sacrifice" clear stamps. I can't wait to get a hold of more of these. They are bold and funky.

I'm going to not overdo the pictures, but I do want to post a few a day for the next week so you can see what I was up to. These are just a few of my Fiskateer Photos. I have about 60 or more of just Fiskateers! We are the neatest community. Fiskateers ROCK!!

Tara at Lil' Davis
Stephanie, Lead Fiskateer. People, she ROCKS!!!!
Lead Fiskateer May at her book signing of Paper and Pixels. Run out and get your's today.
I'm loving it.

Susan Walker of Fiskar's TV and QVC. She's a really sweet person and I loved spending time with her at CHA.

Carrie with Brains on Fire. She is the coolest. I was forunate to spend time with Carrie. We are practically neighbors.

Although I missed my family greatly, I stayed busy working for Pages from the Heart. My job was to locate new businesses or smaller business with products I love and recommend them to the store owner, Nan. I had the privilege of assisting her in the order for Ranger and Technique Tuesday. If you are in the Columbia area you have got to check these out when they come in. We are going to have a loads of fun. Both of these vendors are on my "top notch list." She also ordered from Kriaser. I can not wait until it comes in. It is wonderful. I fell in love with Graphic 45 also. They have two lines "Babies to Bride" and "Times Nouveau." I flipped over Times Nouveau, and she ordered both lines. Watch for layouts posted here real soon with this line.

One note and I'll close this section. With six women in one hotel room you think we would be having World War III. But everything stayed exciting as people were winning things (more later) and excited about their time at CHA. I was fortunate to bunk with Nan. I believe I found a kindred spirit. We had fun, even working. It was a privilege to work through CHA for her and to design for her store. What an awesome responsibility. But she is an awesome lady!

Challenge Week Three
Prize pack is now twice as heavy as when I took this picture!

This week's Challenge will be easy. INK AND TEAR Challenge. I challenge you to do a layout or card that you use ink...not in a stamp..no, no, no! You can distress, highlight, make a design...but no stamps. Be creative. You also have to use torn paper. I cropped for five and a half hours from Washington DC to LAX on the airplane. I could not have scissors so I tore and tore to make my mini book. I have to figure out how many states I crop across. LOL

Here's a few samples of torn and ink:

I tore the photo and the paper and inked the edges on this one. I also used my Heidi Swapp edge distresser and roughed up around the edge of the layout and inked it also with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Ink.

Here I inked the wings, the face of the vellum clocks, edge of the title, photo, and journaling. I used Tim Holtz distressing inks.

Unfinished journal: I had cut out the background before I left, but I tore my heart and sewed a heart with french knots. I tore all my journaling blocks. I just need to journal now.

REMEMBER: I can not ship off the continental USA. If you have contacts here in the states I will be glad to mail your RAK to them and you can make arrangements to get it to you!

Deadline this week will be Saturday evening at 10:00 pm EST. I have to work at the StampScrapArt Show Saturday and Sunday so I won't be around much this weekend. But I'll check on things before I go to bed and announce the winner and the scavenger hunt for the last week.

I will upload to the new slide show starting tomorrow.

Gratitude List:

1. Wellness

2. Calm spirit

3. Birthday parties (not mine)

4. A beautiful granddaughter that loves her grandma.

5. God's overwhelming blessings and love in the face of my failures.

  3. Added my entry to your slidehow, but it's here as well: http://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/image/layout/1292921.html

I tore my photo mat and journaling block and inked each of them. I distressed the edge of the photo, inked that and also applied a layer of ink to the underside of the ghost clock so it would have a brown tint to it.

Thank you SOO much for doing these challenges!!
