My Son Adam and My Cousin Joey

I've gotten so much done today with my scrapbooking and with my computer. That's what I get for declaring to the world that I'm taking quiet days. LOL

Today I want to tell you about one of my favorite cousins. Joey is my Uncle Max's oldest child. He's younger than me, but we share something that we both love very much: Uncle Max. Uncle Max is like my second father. He was my father's best friend since about 1957 or so. From 1971 until dad passed away in 200o they were next door neighbors. So on to tell you about Joey.
Joey is our artist in the family, along with Uncle Max, my son Adam and my granddaughter Amber. Joey has always be artistic but was really challenged when the family wanted a picture of the "old house." Since there were not a lot of pictures of the house while the children were growing up Joey had to take everyone's memories and a few pictures and drew one of the most outstanding pencil drawing I'd ever seen. Remember there are 11 brothers and sisters to give Joey advise. Try sorting through all that. Joey has gone on to professional portraits. He did one for my sister with my father in the background and his three grandchildren grouped beneath him. We all love it very much. Let me brag a bit on my son Adam. He is one that was given great talent, but did not pursue it. He says it's too much fun to mess up with a college degree. But one Christmas he made portraits of my granddaughters for my daughter-in-law, my mom, Jim's mom, and surprisingly for me. I wish I had a copy of the one he did from my mother-in-law as it was the very best. I still hold out hope that he will get some formal training one day. Joey waited until he was older, so I know there is hope. LOL

Artist and Bride to Be

I wish I had a picture of my 13 year old granddaughter's first painting on Canvas. It was the most outstanding thing I've seen. She has always been crafty, going through different phases, including scrapbooking, but I think she has finally found her ultimate gift. I've put in an order and when I get it I'll certainly share.

Leave a comment here about a talent you wish you had, but have learned to enjoy others' work. I've always wanted to draw what I see in my head, but I don't have the talent, so I enjoy that of my family and I love the museums. I could spend hours sitting in front of one painting. Imagine the eye you must see with and the hand that makes it happen. Wow. God's gifts are varied and beautiful.

I've always had interest in music and know I could learn to play an instrument if I wanted to, I could probably even write music, but I can't sing. It's so not fair. LOL

  10. I've always dreamed of being a graceful dancer, but it just isn't to be as I'm a klutz! I have a great sense of rhythm, but it has never translated to dancing. At all. I love watching people dance, though, especially tango and freestyle ice skating. The grace exhibited by those dancers makes me sigh aloud.

I really enjoyed seeing the drawings. How neat that the whole family was able to give him enough information to draw the old home like that.

I wish I could harmonize when singing. I've always been able to "hear" it in my head, but i can't get it to sound right when I get it out of my mouth. Oh well I'll stick with soprano.
