My Hair-Raising Friday the 13th

I wanted a quick trim today. I have short hair so that should not be a problem.

I just stop at a Hair Cuttery (quick, fast food style hair cut). I ALWAYS go to my hair dresser, James. But not today. I waited, waited, waited. Then this 17 year old girl girl comes out and tells me to come on back.

First question she asks...do you want me to wet your hair? Suuuure (BTW: she was 17, they teach this stuff in high school now). After just about drowning me (LOL). She asks me how I want it cut. "Trim up the top and make sure the back of my hair is stacked."

She replies, "Okay, but I might (MIGHT) have to get someone to help me. I don't know how to cut a stack very well."

Now the bells and whistles are going off!!!!! I'm very picky and I'm in the middle of a nightmare. What have I done? But the little girl was sweet and I did not have the heart to tell her NO.

She got Kanisha to stack the back of my hair. She really did everything except trim the very top. Now how hard can that be? Very hard, I guess. She would comb, comb, comb..cut less than a snip...comb, comb, comb...cut less than a snip. She did this for 30 to 35 minutes. I was so panicking inside. I was ready to scream for my husband.

She finally said "is that short enough?"

I didn't even look, I just wanted out of the seat. I got to the car and was nearly in tears. After about 10 minutes of debate I went back in and the nice girl came back up to ask me if she could help. I told her I needed my hair fixed.

She inquired, "do you want me to do it?"

In my head I was saying 'are you kidding?' I politely and encouragingly told her I like the part she did, but I'd really like to have someone else fix it the way I need it to be fixed. I felt bad, but I would have felt worse if my husband had to pay for someone else to fix it. Needless to say they fixed me right up. Everything was fine, although it is a little short.

Now this has been a long story about a hair cut.

The moral of the story is......after a "hair raising" moment that did not turn into a disaster don't go home on Friday the 13th and dye your hair a lighter color. Didn't see that one coming, huh?

Needless to say my avatar will continue to be of me in hats!! LOL

Well, I'm feeling courageous so here is a picture without the hat and with the hat! LOL

I think I'll keep the picture of the Hat! LOL

Life's busy....scrappy life is even busier and i could not be happier!
