The Sights and Smells of Hershey, PA

I wish we had "smell-a-vision" so I could let you smell all the chocolate and sweet smells of Hershey, PA. I think the slide show should give you a better view of Hershey, PA.

During our Trolley Tour of Hershey we learned some very interesting facts about Milton Hershey. He has become one of my new heroes. Some things that stuck with me:
  • MH had the equivalent of a 3rd grade education;
  • MH went bankrupt about 4 times before he became successful;
  • MH and Catherine had no children;
  • M and C Hershey founded a school for orphan boys which became their children; the school still exists today with boys and girls; ever child that graduates with at least a "C" average will receive 6,000.00 to go to college (this past year it was 100% for the first time ever); before MH died he setup a trust and signed his fortunate over to his children to be forever cared for;
  • he built houses and sold them for $1.00 (nice houses);
  • he made sure his employees never suffered without a job during the Great Depression and employment in Hershey actually grew during that time...I could go on and on.

This man was a real hero on several different levels and I'm glad we got to know more about him.

Here is the start of my Fiska-Friendzy Scrapbook...it may take me awhile, but I'm going to try and finish it before I start scrapbooking Christmas!

Crooked on purpose (goes with the rest of the book!)

A little CI paper and Ranger Ink and we have a winner!

This last one I did with Heidi Grace Halloween stamps and some watercolor pencils. It was too much fun.

Points of Interest:
Creative Dreams Studio has the Cloud 9 Christmas Joy paper and embellishments for sale, and the FedEx man just came and I'm going to add two more beautiful pieces of paper to the unKit. Remember if you find the "secret word" on unKit then you can have free shipping!
Don't forget about the comment challenge....leave a comment and have your friends leave a comment with your name and I randomly draw for some Fiskars/Hershey goodies.
Gratitude List:

ps Some of the photos in the slide show belong to fellow fiskateers and we shared our photos. Did you think I could do all that? LOL
