All About You in 52 Week 18

Two years ago was my 30th year High School Reunion. Unfortunately I was unable to attend, but we started a Yahoo Group and shared about our lives, our family photos through the years. It was so much fun to reconnect. I was able to go to Florida a few months before the reunion and "our gang" got together. We were all excited. We were meeting at the cafeteria at the hospital as it was the earliest place open for good food and my cousin worked there and I knew she could cook.

I remember walking in the door and there were these three women who were strangers, but not. Rita and I had seen each other through the years since we were cousins. To see our rebel of the bunch Cathy and our sweetness Carolyn was totally awesome. We nearly had the place to ourselves, so we laughed out loud reliving our "glory" days. We tried to catch up on our lives some fun and some very sad. But you knew deep down we were friends and always would be! Kitty Cat, Retna Mae, Carolyn (never had a nick name) and Perkulator...long live our friendship!

My question to you:

Who was your best friend(s) in High School/College?

Here is my answer...
Journaling
"Friends are Friends forever..." Rita, Caroline, Cathy and ME. I would suppose Cathy was the ring leader. she was very anti establishment & cool! Rita is my cousin. We loved each other, were rivals & even had a cat fight once in the locker room. Caroline always had a straight head on her shoulders. She was elegant & beautiful. There are so many stories I can never tell! No matter what, we were & are friends. 30 years has not changed that bind. "...as the Lord's the Lord of All."

Ingredients
Pattern Paper: Basic Grey

I'd like to share with you a nationwide campaign that the Fiskateers are doing. Between now and June 5th we, as crafters, are collecting non-perishable food to give to the local food banks or outreach centers. Here are some of the events that have collected food so far in my crafty city.

Thanks for the Memories Crop!
Fellowship Of Scrapbookers NSD Crop!

Ongoing are:
The Stamping Place
Scrappin' Creations

DARE Ya! Would you join me whether you are a Fiskateer or not? As a Crafter who cares, pull together some friends, ask at a LSS, get creative and collect non-perishables for your local food bank. If you do, send some photos to me and I'll be happy to post them here with your story. Food Banks often get low when there is not a holiday or if there are natural disasters happening. It's hard when you lose everything and don't even know how you are going to eat. The economy's situation is causing many to lose jobs, lose houses, lose everything. We have the opportunity to lend a hand. You and I can do it.

Gratitude List:
1. Food
2. Clothes
3. Shelter
4. Car
5. God allowing me to have enough food to give and enough strength to give my time.

  5. Squealing in at the last minute (3 a.m. It's the photo posting part that takes an eternity for me. The layout's been done for days. :)) Here's my best pal from college, highschool, jr. high, and now I'm her daughter's adopted auntie (couldn't do godmother--I'm not up to kids and we're not the same religion. Auntie is better anyway. ;))

Love the food bank idea...we don't have an independent scrapbook store, but your pics got me thinking about the scrap groups I attend. Give me some time to get my plan together (really busy right now, but there's no time limit on the need for donations) and I'll report back. :)
