Education, passing the torch, teaching and mentoring has been a life time walk for me. I've been teaching in one form or fashion in many areas. When I graduated from Seminary I taught at the there at the University. I could not think of doing anything but teach. After I left the University I homeschooled my son. What better use of my education than to teach the most precious gift given me?
I finally discovered I have the family crafting gene. It was just dormant for a while. I have always crafted with my children, Sunday School, Children's Church...everywhere. I've never crafted for me until I picked up my first sheet of Scrapbook paper. I was hooked.
I've been rumbling around in my head how do I merge all things I love to do?
Debby's Dream Studio is my answer. You have to read what it is all about over at Debby's Dream Studio. Basically, it is two area of crafting under one roof.
Foundations...is based on the same philosophy as unKit. It is not a KiT. It is products matched for color, style, variety. You pick how much and what you want and put together your projects and enjoy. You buy nothing you do not want to buy. Although I believe we have a great Foundation from Seven Gypsies to kick off Debby's Dream Studio we will be adding our other Foundation that is more in line with Scrapbooking Layouts by the end of the week along with one of my favorite cardstocks', Prismatics.
(My new Crafting Tote)
Mommy and Me Crafts...I could not believe this came from my little head. LOL I believe with all my heart that families should spend time together playing games, talking and crafting. Mommy and Me Crafts are designed so that you go through and pick your products and what you purchase for your child, grandchild, niece, nephew, students, etc you can use for you to make something you will enjoy at the same time. What better way to pass on the passion of crafting than to have your child experience the joy it brings you as you share the creative process. As well as the glitter and glue!
Debby's Dream Studio is a place of sharing. We have three galleries for you to help us fill with all the wonderful things you make with Foundations and Mommy and Me Crafts (Yea, kids unite...you have your own gallery!). We have guest designers and teachers for you and your children.
We are working on product development that focuses on Mommy and Me Crafts.
Creative Dreams Studio is the parent company to Debby's Dare, Debby's Dream Studio as well as continued events, educations and now Debby's Dream Studio Live! Oh, my goodness what have I gotten myself into!
To Celebrate the GRAND OPENING of Debby's Dream Studio I'm having a Random Drawing this Friday at midnight EST for one of our first Foundations. All you have to do is leave a comment on THIS post. That's it. {shrugging shoulders with both hands up in a "that's it" mode}. It would be nice if you could bring a few friends!
Our first Foundation is Seven Gypsies Binderie Starter Kit. There is a demo video on Debby's Dream Studio site from Seven Gypsies that explain the what, how, who and where! Go explore Seven Gypsies what they and others have done with the Binderie is awesome.
Debby's Dare will still be Debby's Dare...I'm just going to add a bit of punch!

ReplyDeletegood luck with your latest endeavor! You certainly were suspenseful with the waiting for the announcement. I can't wait to see what you come up with. computer issues on my end have made it nearly impossible to get to you site, or any others, let alone read what was there.
ReplyDeleteI am behind you all the way with the mommy and me division. I have to tell you I am not familiar with your site but I am about to explore it. I really believe that my childrens creativity and foundation of confidence came partly from the craft times we shared together when they were younger. Now they are both grown and my daughter is following suit with her own children. My son is an artist with several canvass collages in a gallery or two as well as working on sets and props in a theatre company. I have also spent my life working with children through schools, church and other groups leading craft projects. It promotes strong family ties, confidence in the children and a good time of fellowship. Thanks for putting effort forth in this area.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway. It would be fun to win this. Thanks for the chance to win.

500 days, if that is more than a year and a half, after my mother left on her final journey-leaving the six of us half-orphans, my heartbroken father handed me a soft covered book dressed in pages of browns and creams. "Your mother loved this," his lonely blue eyes winced, watered, as he added, "when you read it you'll understand more about her."
ReplyDeleteScrapbooked pages dancing with ephemera, random thoughts of wanderlust; my mother's spirit sat next to me as I jouneyed with these unknown gypsies on another continent.
An opaque sheet was the window that finally let me see into my mother's soul; a woman, a French cemetery, a story I knew she read and reread.
She is gone, but summer dahlias bloom, sweet and savory herbs sway gently in foothill breezes, last spring's scent of daphne now a memory...it is time for me to share my mother's story with pageturners, gypsies, and dreamers.
