Debby's Dare Demo "What To Do On a Yucky Day

've had a couple of yucky days and what I do best to shake myself out of it is to create down and dirty. LOL I pull out inks, paper to tear, stamps, especially alcohol inks (they can be messy if you try!) and paint. There is just something therapeutic about playing in all my mediums.

This is a sample of what I played with and the video shows you how I made the Flower and Flourish.

I also made some quick and easy handmade cards for Christmas.

5 x 10 cardstock
Fiskars Around the Corner Boarder Punch
Making Memories Ribbon
Stazon Ink
Sakura’s Glitter Pen

Punch all the way around your card, remembering your cardstock has to be in one inch increments or the punch will not work evenly. Here is a demo on how it works.

I cut my old card down to fit the inside of the punched area and adhered it to the card.

I did “jazz” the card a bit. Using my glitter pen I went down the brighter side of the trees and highlighted the snow and I added my little title “Merry Christmas” with the Stazon on Ink because it is a glossy finish.

On the inside I attached my Christmas newsletter by adhering the top part and adding a ribbon. If you adhere it all down there is no movement for opening and closing the card.

Recycle and add your family newsletter and this is quick and simple.

8 ½ “ by 5 of Bling Cardstock
Bazzill Bling
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Fiskars Silver Pigment Ink

Using your Cuttlebug embossing folders or Fiskars embossing plates you can make a simple piece of cardstock into a beautiful card in just a minute. For this card I dabbed on Fiskars Pigment Ink directly to the recessed side of the Cuttlebug embossing folder. I added my paper and embossed in my Cuttlebug. It came out silvery and shiny! I added my stamped sentiment in the inside and I’m finished. For me it is simple elegance!

6 x 6 cardstock
Core’dinations Antique
Studio 490 Stamps
Stazon Ink (Bling cardstock is glossy and a stazon works better)
Stickles
Fiskars Micro-Tip Scissors
Sandpaper

Do you need to a little more work in your cards? LOL Here I used a non-Christmas Cuttlebug embossing folder on Antique Core’dinations. I sanded it to make the embossing pop a bit. Using a piece of your left over Core’dinations I stamped a strip 1 ½ inches wide.

Using Studio 490’s Stamps I stamped the poinsettia three times on white Bazzill Bling cardstock. I cut out the whole flower for the base, Then I cut another layer out and added it to the base and then I cut the center out, added Stickles and adhered it to the rest of the flower. I did curl the edges with my fingers a bit. Add a few leaves and adhere the flower to the strip. Tada finished and fun. This would be great to get the whole family involved with an assembly line.

My Butterfly Moment

I was out walking the dog and this butterfly was kind enough to be still until I could figure out my camera on my Blackberry!

  7. I don't do glue guns. I'm too uncoordinated. I always burn myself, but I watched the entire video just for the fun of spending some time with you. You are so right, though, paper and glue always makes me feel better. One of my friends says it's because I'm only five-years-old at heart! LOL!
