Just a Fun Crafty Day

I want to remind you of the RAK to help share the word about the 12 Days of Home for the Holidays December 1 - 12.

Artists/Crafters from all parts of the world will be here blogging about one of their holiday traditions and how they preserve those traditions. You will recognize the names and faces of those who influence and inspired me in my craft. There will be hints placed on the blog throughout this week. You just have to be sharp to any changes or key words. Just part of the fun.

To enter in the giveaway just share the news on facebook, twitter, messageboards, your blog, send email to your friends. Come back here and post that you spread the word and if you have a blog and posted it there share your link. The giveaway is a mini-book from a Teresa Collins class using her papers and the Zutter binding system. See the post below to see the whole book. Awesome. Ends Tuesday midnight PST.

I felt so crafty yesterday. I completed one layout and I’m working on my son and his wife’s advice book from the wedding. I can’t wait to share it with you.

This is a layout of my daughter when she was 3 years old at Christmas. It is made with Jenni Bowlin  and her Core’dination papers (in DDS), and Little Yellow Bicycle’s Christmas line stickers with Kaiser, Lil’ Davis and Bazzill Chips. It was just plain fun.

My husband finished my laundry room floor and when he finished he walked by my studio and ask if I would like to go to the Christmas Craftsman’s Classic craft show. I had forgotten about it, but I jumped up clean up my inky hands, had my shoes on and said I’m ready!!

The incredible inspiration! The colors, the talents, the smells were all refreshing and inspiring. Problem is “NO PHOTOS ALLOWED.” I understand, as this is their trade. I saw photography of humming birds that was awesome. I enjoyed all the jewelry. Very creative and if you ask they often can tell a story about how they came to make a particle piece. Here is the piece of handcrafted jewelry I purchased. It is simple but elegant.

Food, oh my goodness as the homemade goodness. One of my favorite booths has wassail and corn chowder. This year I got the corn chowder…all the ingredients. I’m sorry, but now one I know can make this southern corn chowder like they can.

Another booth I frequent every year has sauces. I love their Sundried Tomato and Olive Finishing Sauce. I’m adding mine to a good pasta salad with avocados. I think I might have to do that today!

One of my favorite purchases has to do with what I do often: drink coffee. I found this small booth where they sold incredible pottery. I spoke with the owner/crafter and the colors are all hand mixed. She said they have worked for years to get the right color tones to do their pottery. Of course I had to have a coffee cup at least. I love it.

Okay, off to craft some more today.
