Hope

I decided as one of my New Year goals to participate in Patter Cross’ {Scripture Challenge 2}. I’ve incorporated it into my quiet time (1) one as a time saver; (2) because the subject/word is awesome. Patter is doing 6 x 6 pages. I’m opting to do ATC cards. I have the 7 Gypsies Revolving ATC Card Holder I’m using. 52 seem to be a magic number for me. 52 All About You, 52 Homemade Families, 52 Scripture Challenge. Too much fun.

This week our word is “hope.” The timing on this could not have been better. A friend of mine and I were discussing hope. Hope in the middle of hard situations. That is the worst when feelings and emotions are involved. As I looked through my Bible to glean an insight into hope I ran across a very familiar verse, but we often look at the verse as the main topic of faith.

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1. What caught my attention is that those things hoped for brings about the reality of faith. Hope is not seeing the solution. This hope translates into faith that God is sovereign in my situation and that my faith is the assurance of that I hope for.

Here is my ATC Card to remind me of that truth.
