Oops, There It Is!

Woo Hoo! I finished week 4 of Homemade Families before I needed to do Week 5. I love that this one was a “free for all.” We’ll have to build more of those into our journey.

We have had many family gatherings throughout my lifetime. I chose one from 1994. It was a day, probably Thanksgiving as I see a few jackets and sweaters. We in Florida here so you can tell a bit what time of the year it is easily.

This is my mom’s side of the family. I love all the food around the table. The fun of sitting on the porch, inside on Grandma’s chairs, or like Uncle Earl standing out at his truck with his food and southern ice tea. Several of these pictures are so precious. Top second photo is of my Uncle James. The bottom let photo is my Uncle Earl and next to him is my father. These are great men who passed since these photos were taken. What fun to see Uncle Lamar sitting next to his playful (mischievous) nephew. There was my Dad, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Sister and so much more that day. The most important person was my Grandmother (pictured with the recipe). She was the greatest cook ever. She said she owed it to cooking three meals a day for 11 children and one husband! And she did!

My own question: Pick a picture perfect day of my family with a recipe that everyone wanted and only a few got.

My Answer

Journaling

For Sudie, from unKit:

These were yesterday’s pictures outside my house early in the am. The trees were pretty frozen, but it was worse just a few miles away. The worst part was trying not to let the dog (1) run down the stairs and break something on him; (2) make him stay outside long enough to do all his morning activities. Since we live in the south salt anything or scraping anything doesn’t happen must. Actually my windshield ice scraper for my car is what I use to clean off my Ranger Craft Mat. LOL

This is today outside.  The beautiful blue sky and the clear ice on the Pine Trees.  The porch is crackling and it is very cold for a South Carolina day.
