We are in the mist of Heritage Month for 2 Weeks of Homemade Families. I have so many “heritage” photos and recipes I believe we are going to have to do this month again.
When I do my heritage photos and more I always think of my Grandmother and Mom. My mother-in-law is a godly woman as well as a great cook. Wait until I share a few of her dessert recipes. This week I wanted to pick a recipe that I’m not sure that is a heritage recipe, but it has been passed down to my children.
Judy and me always put in for Mom Lewis to make her chicken and rice when we visit them. Judy does a pretty good job as well, but not like Mom. Last time she visited us in October, Mom who is XX (you don’t tell a woman’s age) actually stood there and help us cook and we made sure she could make her yellow rice. It’s a fight to the finish and when we are all together there is never any leftovers.

Believe it or not I’m still working on it. Stephanie, my daughter-in-law, saw it for the first time and said it looks funny. There was so much light coming in it look different. Tabitha and Vanessa both have taken advantage of sitting and talking with me in my wicker, fan back rocker that I’m able to get into the room now. I love it for reading quietly, having family visits, or just enjoying the sunlight in a quiet room. I’ve found some old pictures, but they may be too old. I’m still checking so I can give you a before and after shot. LOL
This is the results of a Black and White ATC swap with Scrapbook News and Review. I love all my ATCs. I Dare Ya to pick out mine!

What is a wonderful recipe that you have picked up from your Mother-in-Law (or someone in your husband’s family)? If you are not married, pick a recipe from a special friend.
