52 Weeks of Homemade Families, Week 8

What week is it anyway? I’ve been so busy with the preparations of my daughter’s wedding that I’ve lost track of everything. I know I have hard fast deadlines. But one thing I know: I would not have it any other way.

This is the last Tuesday of Heritage month for Homemade Families. I know we will be doing this again. I loved digging into my old photos, stories and recipes.

I was told a story by an older cousin that my Grandmother Thomas had a way to let people know whether she liked them or not. This was her way of being polite. If, when it came time to leave, she would give them a melon. If she gave you a green melon you were in, she liked you. If she gave you a yellow melon (honeydew melon) then she didn’t like you. I don’t know if then people realized the difference. I don’t even know if the story is true. But I love it and wanted to capture the thoughts of in my family recipe book.

Question
Do you have an old family story that includes food? If not, is there a more recent funny experience you have had involving food?

I need to apologize for my neglect of Dare2Dream community. I will be over there working hard today to catch up. Since I’ve mailed everything out it is RAK time. Check out the community a little later and the details will be posted there. I hope you will join me and our guest Blogger along with a chat at Dare2Dream about Homemade Families in March: Jennifer Stewart. Jennifer is an outstanding scrapbook artist and wonderful cook. I can’t wait.

Debby’s Dream Studio has had another revamp, update, doin’ it again! As DDS grows so does the store. All the foundations are separated. Another words you can create your own foundation one page at a time. Spring and Easter color cardstock has been added from Prism. We also have Monochromatic packs. I held one back for a Fiskateer RAK! I’ve been taking inventory so we can make room for the products that will be rolling in within the next 2 weeks.
