Debby's Dare Demo, 101a Heat Embossing

Several bloggers have asked about the simple start to heat embossing. This is at least my answer to the start of embossing. I could do a two-hour class on what to do and not do. You will see a bit of product review. {These are my opinions and was not given any products for this review…a must say because of the law thing.}

Notes before you watch:
Chalks and Dye inks are not as great for heat embossing (HE) due to the fact it dries fast. Exception would be Tim Holtz Distress inks that are dye but formulated to allow time for embossing.

Stazon is not good for embossing. Its function is mainly for non-pours products. Photos, plastic, glass, glossy papers, etc. are just a few examples.

Pigment Inks such as Ranger archival inks, Ranger Adirondack Pigment Inks, ColorBox pigments, Memories, and Versa Mark are just a few examples.

There is a big different between embossing with “regular” embossing powders and Tim Holtz Distress embossing powders. They act very different with a different effect. I’ll address that in a future DDD. You can go to http://timholtz.com where Tim demos several of his products.

As always I ask if you would pretty please leave a comment if this was informative or where you want me to take the embossing series of demos.

This is my finished product. I used a nib and gold leafing to finish out my butterfly.

SNOW!
I will be posting snow photo tomorrow. Granted we are South Carolina and not Washington. It is not only exciting for us, especially the grandchildren as well. One bummer: I was heading to the Scrap, Stamp Art Show tomorrow morning. Now I’ll wait until Sunday. Ted, just don’t run out of Wendy and Tim’s stamps before I get there!!

    Need to check your spelling if you do a blog. The word is Non-porous and not non-pours as in rain. Just thought I'd mention it.
