A Comeback After Food Poisoning: yep, I’ve been down but not out. I knew it when it hit me because I’ve been through it once before. I don’t recommend it for anyone. I missed you guys.
I’m struggling now with how I want to share my layout with you. It was inspired by a question. Wednesday before last when a friend asked me “Is the gospel sufficient for your needs?” I tried to answer only to be frustrated by my own excuses of why I really did not believe it does, then going through “well it does BUT,” and lastly giving up and saying “I don’t know.” The question of my needs being met by the gospel became a topic of prayer and a lot of thought.
A pastor once told me he had to preach the gospel to himself daily. I did not understand that until now. Sunday I became emotional over a song that sang of the work of the gospel and those needs that God meets because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. I think I had forgotten to remind myself. That reminder of the gospel answered the question for me. “Yes, the gospel does meet all my needs.”

ReplyDeleteCW I will be praying for you.
ReplyDeleteDebby, With your strong testimony, I was surprised you struggled with this. Then I remembered, we all do at times. I think we confuse our wants with our needs and have to sort those out. One of my hubby's favorite songs, with a great bass line, says: "Wonderful the matchless grace of Jesus. . . .All sufficient grace for even me, for even me!" And I need that much more than I think I need a house or a car or anything else! Okay, I'm preachin' to the choir!
ReplyDeleteGod bless!
This is a beautiful post and testimony of the love of our Savior. Thanks you for sharing this dare with us. I love the title.
ReplyDeleteWow Deb, very thought provoking! Thanks for making me think. And thanks for being honest, with us and with yourself.
