Story of a Birthday Present

I mentioned Monday that I would show you how I made my embellishments for my layout of Little Honey.  Well, I've finally invested in a Circut...The Circut Imagine.  After watching the demonstration at the Craft and Hobby Association Show and actually having some hands on time I realized out of all the Circuts the Imagine has the greatest potential for me to be able to create something new and different.

I sat up Tuesday waiting for the midnight hour.  I Instant Messaged back and forth with a friend who was the expert buyer from HSN.  By 12:01 over 500 had sold and I was right behind with my order.  One catch, I did not tell my husband what I was up to at midnight with a TV, a phone, and my credit card.  The deed was done, now to wait.

HSN said it would arrive on the 24th.  Plenty of time to warn...tell...my husband.  I checked the status on Thursday and it just said UPS had billed HSN for the pickup.  I checked the status Friday to see if it had a "real" date.  The tracking said it had left the dock in West Columbia and was headed for my house.  Before noon my Circut Imagine was on one of my studio tables.  I didn't have the heart to unpack it until I told my husband.  So I patiently waited until he came home from work.

After several false starts I finally told Jim what I purchased and that it had arrived.  He did not bat an eye but said "okay."  He did say, "I thought you didn't want a Circut."  Oh, but this is not just any Circut it is the Imagine!  So all said and done it was my birthday present and I used it for the first time creating LH's first layout.  What a better birthday than I could imagine!

Layout

I have been having fun playing with pink and cream so I pulled out an old photo of me and decided to play a bit.  I love the Magic Mesh, Prima Crystals, and Prima Flowers.  My mother made the little crocheted piece underneath the large flower.  I used Craft Dots from Glue Dots® Adhesives to adhere all the pieces together.  They are larger than the minis and very strong for heavier embellishments.  They are my all time favorite.
