Design Team Queen Erika Taylor!

Hi everyone, It’s Erika Taylor here with my first project to share with you as a Design Team member for heArt of Scrapbooking. Ever since I first saw the Steampunk Debutante line from Graphic 45, I’ve been planning on what I would do with it when it finally made its way to my door. I so love the colors, the flowers and the images throughout this line and I hope that you love what I created.

Dream Cardstock Layout by Erika Taylor

Sometimes cardstock is my best friend. You know those moments when you just paw over a few colors? Mix a few of them together that you wouldn’t regularly pair together? Cardstock is the most versatile product out there is paper crafting land, and I wanted to share with you a layout that uses ONLY cardstock, stamps and adhesive.

Here are the supplies and instructions to create the layout.

Supplies
American Craft Cardstock in choice of colors (I used the following)
Peony x 1
Raspberry x 1
Rouge x 1
Sunflower x 1
Olive x 1
Geyser x 1
Vanilla x 2
Black x 2
7 Gypsies- Calais Collection stamps
Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black, New Sprout and Rose Bud
Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive, Helmar Liquid Scrapdots, Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner
Making Memories Slice machine
Making Memories Basic Shapes cartridge
Edge Distress tool
¼” Fiskars hole punch
Scor-Pal

Step 1- cut 4 ½” x 12” Geyser cardstock. Stamp with medallion image in Tuxedo Black Ink, over entire piece. Stamp floral vine image in Rose Bud sporadically on cardstock. Distress edges. Adhere to 12” x 12” Black cardstock.

Step 2-Cut out 8” x 8” Raspberry cardstock and 7 ¾” x 7 ¾” Vanilla cardstock. Distress edges of each, the layer using adhesive runner. Cut out 6 ½” x 6 ½” Rouge cardstock and distress edges. Adhere to layout. Adhere 4” x 6” photo to right side of Rouge cardstock.

Step 3- Cut 3 pieces of 1” x 12” Sunflower cardstock. Score at ½” intervals. Pleat cardstock border and adhere to layout. Stamp floral image to raised pleats using New Sprout ink.

Step 4- Using Slice, cut out 3- 2” Peony cardstock flowers, 3- 1½” Peony cardstock flowers, 3- 2” Sunflower cardstock flowers and 3- 1 ½” Sunflower cardstock flowers. Layer flowers, Bend petals upward, then adhere to layout using Liquid Scrapdots.

Step 5- Cut out 2- 2” circles from Geyser and 2- 2” circles from Raspberry cardstock. Then cut out 2 each of 1 ½” circles from Geyser and Raspberry cardstock. Distress edges and layer. Adhere to layout using Liquid Scrapdots.

Step 6- Using Slice, cut out leaves from Olive cardstock and adhere to layout. Cut out DREAM sentiment from Olive and Raspberry cardstock. Layer to create shadow and adhere to layout.

Step 7- Finish layout by punching cardstock with ¼” hole punch in Raspberry and Black. Adhere tiny circles to inside of flowers, left edge of layout and around photo frame.

Cardstock really can create the most beautiful layouts. Try your hand at creating a project where you ONLY use it. You will be pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

What incredible works of creativity.  I'm glad Erika took my Dare to use nothing but Cardstock.  The strip in the back looks like a piece of pattern paper.  Totally Rocks!  Thank you Erika.
