Happy Holidays everyone. Erika Taylor here today to share with you one of my favorite moments of Christmas Eve. We are of Scandinavian decent, so Christmas Eve is the night of all of our traditions and festivities. Since my wonderful husband Mark and I married, I’ve made him a special Christmas gift. One year it was 35 scrolls wrapped in ribbon with things I love about his character. Another year was a coffee press filled with hearts and each heart had “I Love You” written in different languages. In 2008, I created an album for him with all of the reasons I know he is a good father. I love this man more than words, but every Christmas, I try to let him know just how much!
When it is time to open his gift, the whole room melts away and we have our few moments alone so to speak. My mom caught this thank you on film.
I loved the dreamy faces on so many of the images of the Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante line and knew they would be the perfect fit for this photo. I distressed the edges of a few of the elements, did a bunch of fussy cutting and of course a whole lot of layering. The ribbon was distressed with ink and the chipboard letters and grungeboard numbers were sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. To give that added little bit, I applied Distress Stickles in both Marmalade and Rock Candy.
Yup, most definitely my favorite moment for Christmas.
And to celebrate family and all it means especially during the Holiday Season, I created a very easy card using the Steampunk Debutante line and some wonderful 7 Gypsies stamps from heArt of Scrapbooking. Check out the tabs at the top of the store to see all the wonderful things Debby has available.
Take a moment during these holidays to capture that one thing that always makes for a wonderful Christmas. I hope all of you have a safe and loving holiday season. Merry Christmas
