A Little Bit of Honey

My new little grandbaby is growing so fast.  I received a text this weekend that she rolled over THREE times.  What better inspiration than that of someone you love so dearly.

The Story
RA has not met her great grandparents.  Cross our fingers and say a prayer that all will be right and in a few weeks the two great grandmothers, one great grandfather, along with great aunt and uncle will be here for Jacob's graduation and to meet little Miss Priss (I have a myriad of cute names for her!).   In the meantime we all tell stories of of them.  This particular picture is RA napping on a quilt Tabitha's grandmother made for her years ago.  I love how the Future is in the Past.

The Layout

What I Learned
  • Try to think outside the box.  The "bow" on the bottom left are two crocheted doilies from Prima.  I kept trying to layer them with flowers or even lay them by themselves. It just wasn't working for me.  I've really been into making hair bows  so I decided to add stitching to the layered crocheted pieces and create a "bow" that worked wonderfully.  For me it was certainly outside the "box."
  • Create my own matching buttons.  I think it is wonderful that I can pair up Epiphany Crafts button maker tool with Prima's paper to make a custom button.
  • I really want the "feel" of the layout to reflect generations.  Using the crochet "bow" and then the crochet flower makes me feel like I'm home again.
  • Going back to something clean and simple brings a whole new prospective to my craft.
  • FYI:  no distressed edges or inky edges!  That was a real challenge.
Everything is Prima with the exception of the stamped title from Technique Tuesday, dots made from Rangers White Enamel, and Epiphany Crafts button top.

My heart belongs to this little girl.

Personal Request

My son Jacob is finishing his High School years this week.  He must finish up all last minute paperwork and projects.  He is saying goodbye to many friends and to the girl he has dated for the last few years (she moving with her Army family).  He is finishing up his year in leadership with AFJROTC.  College is a ton of work to get ready for and he must complete two placement tests in the next few weeks.  If that's not enough he works 20 or so hours a week.  He's stretched and strained.  Please remember Jay in prayer.  It's my prayer he does well, enjoys these next few weeks, and knows his family believes in him.  He needs to realize he is not alone in this walk.  Thanks.

Have a Crafty Day!

Gratitude List
1.  Jay's love, dedication, and integrity
2.  my sweet daughter who helps mom not to be so "mom"
3.  crafty time with my daughter-in-law
4.  a wonder of my support system
5.  God's reminder not to "get" ready for a "day" but to walk each day realizing His unfathomable Grace
