Post Title?

I'm title challenged today!

Bloggers, thanks for the comments.  I love reading them.  I wish that we could all be at a crop together to create, talk and laugh.  Thank you also for the great encouragement on my art.

I'm continuing my artful, crafty journey.  My goal for this year is to learn more about the craft I so love and to stretch my own understanding of it.  I never really got into epoxy embellishments.  I would use them from time to time.  Finding epoxy stickers and shapes was hit and miss at best.

My journey has challenge me to be creative in my style of scrapbooking in using epoxy stickers.  You know I fell in love.  I have layered them, inked them, made accents, and embellishments.  I've even made them a secondary focus after my photo.  Epiphany Crafts has the greatest tools to help create custom epoxy embellishments.

The Story
This is another Wall Art layout I created of my my second son and his wife.  The photo was taken right after they were married.  My favorite part of my day is to see them with the sparkle in their eyes, smile on their face, and their baby, little Lilly (the pup) in tow.

The Layout
What I Learned
  • I love clustering.  The butterflies, key, pearls, gems, and tag.  I think I need to explore more and find a way to stretch myself beyond my comfort zone.  But I never will move far from my "clustering."
  • Working with pattern paper this beautiful is always difficult.  I don't want to cover any of the paper design with other items.  Sometimes I just want to put the paper in a picture frame and hang it on the wall.
  • I wanted a splash of white to pop the page.  I used my i-Rock to create the flourish.  I created the pattern to follow by using a stamp inked with Tea Dye Distress Ink.  It was light enough that I could then cover the pattern with the gems.
  • For this layout that is in a vintage style I went back on the gems and added a touch of Stazon Jet Black ink to create a vintage look.
  • When a particular color embellishment is not quite the shade I need, the pink Epiphany Crafts vintage setting, I can just add a touch of paint to soften or darken the embellishments.  Here I used Ranger's Snow Cap Dabber, my favorite.
  • The small epoxy caps enhance the Graphic 45 die cut piece. It draws your focus as well as magnifies it a bit.
  • I buy all my paper in multiples.  Having two of the dice cut of "The Lover Tells..." allowed me to cut out the picture of the woman and layer it on top of the other pieces to make it pop.
  • I still love butterflies!
  • Saving somethings is well worth the wait to find the best opportunity to use it.  The title is from K&Co.  I purchased these probably two years ago.  The color, size and pattern seem to fall right into place with this layout.

  2. Nice! I feel the same way, sometimes the patterned paper is pretty enough to frame. I've thought about that from time to time.
