Simple Can Be Fun!

I'm still in the midst of my busy week enjoying Little Honey's Birthday Week.

I love this layout because it is of my dad.  Dad was stationed in Okinawa at the time.  It was there he met a man that became his best friend and eventually my uncle.

The 5 x7 photo is dad just goofing around.  You can see a very young Chuck in the lower photo.  All the old photos of dad just bring him back to me and how he was when I was little.  Dad was very sick towards the end of his life.  I will always believe that my dad was the best father in all the world.  I tell my grandchildren about him so they will have my memories of Dad.

I had fun using all the browns then splashing in some blue.  It gave it an abstract feeling.  Simple, but I still get the feeling of a touch of art and a lot of Dad.

Predominate pattern paper is from KaiserCraft.  The paper with the ruler and numbers is from My Mind's Eye newest release.  To get my circle I used my Fiskars Circle Cutter...don't leave home without it!  I made my "ticket" look with Fiskars Ticket It squeeze punch.  The blue chipboard pieces are from Technique Tuesday.  I just added Broken China Distress Stain and a stamp.  The little faux stitching is from a much older collection by Cloud9.

Thanks for letting me share my Pop with you.

Birthday Week

Monday and Tuesday were the first two days of Little Honey's birthday week.  Monday I gave her a princess birthday hat and wand for the week.  The wand is from Making Memories line Bravissimo.  I collect hats and other pieces of "dress up" items so that LH and I can play dress up.  There are photos of LH while we were playing dress up.

Tuesday I gave LH her own gardening set and a starter kit to grow sunflower seeds.  We will be working on that one today.
