Changing It Up

I'm all for changing it up.  After an awesome trip to the strawberry patch last Friday with my granddaughter I had to scrap photos of her eating fresh strawberries off the vine.  I had found an awesome sketch that I was going to use to guide me, but as I started I just felt like I wanted to do something different, to just play around a bit.

The pattern paper is from Daisy Bucket.  Sadly, Daisy Bucket Designs closed their doors, but not before I was able to pick up two, I only found two, of these incredible sheets of paper.  They have the texture of the old Chatterbox.  The foundation is Core'dination.

The grass at the bottom is hand drawn, (2) colored with a Watercolor Pencil, (3) brushed over with a water brush, (4) outlined with Stamp Markers by American Crafts, (5) after drying sanded slightly.  It was fun just to play.

The stems to the flowers is a fancy stitching I would have never recommend.  Now, not only do I NOT recommend it, but I WARN you not to do it.  I've always said "Paper is Unforgiving."  Stitching this tight does nothing but tear the paper.  I placed several strips of Scotch scrapbooking tape on the back to stabilize the stitching.  Cool look, but not so cool damage to my paper.

I used my Making Memories Slice to create the file labels on the photos.  I love the whole character of the title I made from Making Memories Slice and tiny alphas.

The border is created from a Martha Stewart punch.

The odd element I just had to add was the hanging button from the center of the flower.  It's just fun to do something different.

Talk To Me
What are you doing towards the April Challenge to create a project/layout with something you learned. It can be about a tool you have, but never really "got to know" or a technique you've been wanting to try, what about learning more about your camera and what it can do with photos?  POST your link HERE on the original post with your project to be in a drawing for a fabulous prize from Making Memories.  The details are on this POST.  Good Luck!

  1. Sorry you had such a tough time stitching (say that three times fast, LOL) but it turned out beautifully. I love how you highlighted each photo with a circle and file tab and your artwork is fantastic!
