Satisfied to be Unsatisfied | Last Day to Enter Challenge and Giveaway by Making Memories

I was putting together a layout I really wanted to do, with shape pieces I wanted to work with, paper I have been saving, and a photo that is precious to me.  Yet, no matter what I did I could not get satisfied with it.  I picked, pulled, started over, walked away,...you name it I did it.  LOL

The layout is finally okay, but really I'm satisfied to be unsatisfied.  Sometimes life just throws you a few learning curves.

Here is my layout.  It is of my daughter and her daughter, my granddaughter, the Saturday before Easter at a local church's Easter Egg hunt.

The photo is of Little Honey opening the eggs with the help of her mom.  The candy was not age appropriate, so mom had to run interference.

I will often have an idea and try it out and often it bombs.  LOL  I was playing with some plastic, a permanent ink, and an embossing folder.  The ink dried too quickly and I didn't get the effect I wanted.  I didn't throw the experiment out but saved it.  I cut the image "Post Card" out of the plastic experiment and adhered as an embellishment to my layout.

I put that banner everywhere on the page and I was not satisfied at all.  I have it in a different place than my norm, but isn't what we do all about experimenting at times?

I do love my Fiskars Special Edition Jenni Bowlin border punch Main Street.  This is my first time using it, but certainly not my last.

  4. My favorite shape - hexagon! Love how you used them on your page. The title in the banner is clever and the journaling on that torn tag is fab! Such a sweet page - TFS :)

  5. There must be something in the air, because I haven't been happy with my work lately either. I keep tearing things apart. LOL! I think your end result looks wonderful with all of the hexagons and the banner. :)

  7. Love how you saved your 'failed' experiment. I watched this youtube video that a LSS owner explained all sorts of inks. Because inks are just so confusing! This is what I learned. Basic ink types: chalk, dye, and pigment. Which ones dry faster? Just go by the alphabet order, c, d and p. C dries the fastest and p dries the slowest, which is better for embossing.

    1. This is a great way to remember. I hope you don't mind if I share that. I knew which is which, but i was hoping I was quicker than the Stazon was in drying! LoL
