Personal ... Prayers of Faith

Today I'm setting aside my crafty post to share with you a more personal matter that slows my heart and drives one to their knees.

This is a photo of a beautiful family.  This is my husband's nephew, Eddie White, his wife, and his children.

June 29/30 my husband's nephew Eddie, was admitted to the hospital with a severe headache.  When they thought he had meningitis they transferred him to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital. They have been fighting one symptom after another not sure of the exact type of meningitis he has.

Today, July 11, they confirmed a diagnoses.  Eddie has Eastern Equine Encephalitis virus.  The doctors have said there is no treatment.  The website for the CDC says that there are only 5 - 10 cases reported yearly.  We have been told ... "Although they are continuing with the antibiotics, they told us that Eddie will basically have to recover on his own."

Honestly, I don't want to get into the "what's" of the disease here.  You can click on the CDC site and see what Eddie is fighting.  Needless to say it is not good.  Eddie is in extreme serious condition.

I don't reach out often on a personal level on my blog.  This is different.  I know there are many people of faith who read my blog.  I'm reaching out to you asking for pray for Eddie.

Please remember his wife and two boys who are with him at the hospital (only the oldest son is at the hospital).   Eddie's mom, dad, brother and his wife are there.  Eddie's sister is working hard from home to care for her grandparents, the younger son and another niece, and is the spokesperson for the family.  Rosanne has a large responsibility and her heart is to be with her brother.

The family has a site on Facebook which updates us to Eddie's progress.  I'm encouraged everyday by the scripture that is shared.  Here is one of my favorite and most comforting:

I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. Psalm 18:1-2

Thank you my blog friends and family.
