Good Grief, Mom's Right! / Playground Scrapbook Layout

I have had a mental block about my age since I turned 42.  I seem to continually add a year to my age.  I don't know why.  I was 42 years old for two years...it was hilarious.  I have done that twice more since and usually no one catches it until it is time for my next birthday.  Well, Mom gave me a call last night and left me a message telling me to check my math.  I'm not 54 but rather 53!  LOL  Since she was there I'll take her word for it and be a year younger!  My husband hasn't stop laughing yet.

As I'm winding down my summer book for my granddaughter I only have a few more to share with you.  I have one more event I want to cover and a opening page to complete.  Hopefully I'll have that finished this weekend.

One of Little Honey's favorite things to do is play on the playground.  I think we've been to nearly every playground in the vicinity!  Right now her favorite thing to do is slide down the slide.  She is fearless on even the biggest of slides.  aka. the slide at Edventure children's museum is nearly two stories high and she has gone down that one by herself  twice.

Ingredients:  Daisy D's paper collection of Nursery Pink and Classic Playground; Tim Holtz Distress Ink,  Vintage Photo; Bag O' Buttons; Prima pearls and lace; Webster's Page lace; Cuttlebug®  Distress Stripes Emboss Folder; Fiskars X-Large Round 'n Round squeeze punch, Scalloped boarder punch; American Crafts Thickers; Dymo Label Maker; PSE

I used another sketch by Susan Stringfellow as inspiration.  Susan's sketch called for hexagon, but I really wanted circles for this one.  I felt I did so little on this layout that I went back and added the buttons and embossed several of the circles.

My paper is soooo old and I still have a lot of it, but it is a real timeless design that I just love. Susan's sketch called for one 4" x 6" photo.  I needed at least three photos.  I ended up with three that are 2" x 6".

My goal for the weekend among so many other things is to complete my daughter's banner and LH's summer book.  What do you plan on crafting this weekend?

Have a Crafty Weekend!

  3. I understand about forgetting your age. Around 34 or so I stopped remembering. I didn't do it on purpose, I just got to the point where I honestly couldn't remember!! I have to ask my hubby how old he is so I can figure out how old I am. He is 2 years younger than me so I just add 2 to his age and then I know how old I am. I will be 37 next month. (I think!, LOL JK)
