Art Is Exciting! Creative JumpStart Summit 2013

I've been excitingly working in my studio with paints and mediums and yes, scrapbook paper.  I've pulled out my vintage photos, scanned, cleaned up, printed, and am scrapbooking away.  I sigh with satisfaction as I look around.

I do want to tell you about a series of free classes from Nat Kalbach.  She owns Nathalie's Studio and is an awesome artist who also scrapbooks.  Her story is inspiring.  Her free event, Creative JumpStart Summit 2013, runs throughout January.  So far the videos are 10 minutes more or less and are packed with mixed media techniques from her and her crafty artists friends you will instantly recognize.  I jumped into it a few days late, but I'm having a great time (and I'm able to go back and catch up). Here is where you go to sign up:   Creative Jump Start Summit 2013

Sharon Laakkonen was the first JumpStarter I watched.  Sharon works with Prima Marketing as a Prima Educator.  I had so much fun with her lesson that I had to make a layout the same afternoon.  It was crazy fun and simple. Sharon shared technique on tags.

This is my mother in 1957!  She was and is the most beautiful woman.

Melody Ross paper, Petaloo Color Me Flower, Maya Road pin...see the rest below.  The layout was inspired by Canadian Scrapbooker's Magazine "It's a Sketchy Challenge."

A tag, Washi Tape (yes, I'm late joining the Washi Tape craze!), white acrylic paint, 1949 computer font.

A tag, Ranger Perfect Pearls, Prima mask, 1949 computer font.

MY FAVORITE:  a tag, Color Box chalk ink, 1949 computer font, Studio Calico Huey's Mask, AND Glass Bead Gel.  I can't share the how of this since it is not my idea and it is part of an ongoing event.  So I really encourage you to go sign up.

A little added fun to the layout.

Can you tell I'm having a great time?  Well, I have another day's lesson in my inbox so I'm off to learn more about making art!

Have a Crafty Artsy Day!
