"Giggi" with Authentique and Blue Fern Studio ??Gluing Ribbon??

Let me start by saying thank you for all the great comments on Wednesday's post.  They were helpful and sometimes funny.  Best of all it was confirming that all of us have those days where it's just not happening.  Thanks.

The trip to Florida included a stay at my mom's house.  It was no surprise that she was itching to hold her sweet great-granddaughter, Ali for the first time.  Mom and I talked about her knowing her great-grandmother and here it is she is holding her great-granddaughter.  There are a lot of hardworking, strong, artistic, brilliant genes that Ali. has to live into to.

A simple page but very sweet.  The stand-outs for me are the Blue Fern Gate and birds on the branch, the tiny flowers "growing to the garden," (from the border punch.)  Mama's crochet lace and the antique lace.

If you have never used Authentique papers I totally love the feel of it.  Years ago the feel of the older Chatterbox paper lines were about the same.  Just to feel it and work with it was just fabulous.  I think I feel the same way about the Authentique. 

A fun item on the list is the enameled tag.  The rub-ons I used on the tag are terribly old.  Wholly Cow rub-ons from Basic Grey I purchased at least 8 or 9 years ago and the Creating Keepsake rub-ons about the same time.  They worked great.  Some rub-ons after a few years do not rub on anymore.

What do you use to glue ribbon down like a border?  I use a dry glue strip for my lace pieces.  When I use a liquid glue for ribbon it either doesn't work because it absorbs into the ribbon quickly or leaves glue spots on the top side of the ribbon.  For my ric rac I used Alieene's Tacky Glue this time around.  Worked pretty good.  What would you suggest for satin, gross grain, velvet, etc.?
