Outside The Box, A Scrapbook Layout

Bright colors, clip art, and multiple photos is totally outside my normal style.  When I sat down to scrapbook these photos of my granddaughter Ali all the colors just popped out of the photo crying for some color and fun.

Ali joined her cousin at Little Gym for Friendship Day.  You would think she had been born to swing on the rings, tumble and roll, walk the balance beam (of course with help), climb the stairs, etc.  I was amazed and proud of my little grand-girl.

Let's Break It Down
Core-dinations paper
Basic Grey paper (striped  paper)
Little Yellow Bicycle Wood Shapes
American Crafts Thickers
Vintaj stars
Making Memories tiny alpha
WeRMemory Keepers Bakers Twine
Fiskars corner rounder squeeze punch
Other: lace frame, clip art, photo corners, paper tear ruler

The layout is pretty straight forward.  A couple of things to notice is a bit of creativity I had to come up with because I ran out of letters for the title.  I had no "a" for the word "Star."  Since the theme was "a star is born" I remembered I had these wonderful metal Vintaj pieces I picked up when a local store went out of business.  It works out perfectly.  Forced creativity...gotta' love it.

I also used computer clip art I found on the internet.  I used my Photoshop editor to change the color of the gymnast's hair and outfits in order to match the background of the photos and Ali's pretty red hair.

Although this layout was out of the box for me I did end up liking it very much.

Did You See?
Remember this (as a good friend would say) ...
To my amazement and delight Graphic 45 featured this piece on their blog last week.  You can see it HERE on Graphic 45's blog

Another fun piece for me is that I've picked up my 50 votes badge from Scrapbook Awards.  I would love and appreciate your vote for my Father's Day layout.  It is a special layout for my husband with the children as they were growing up.  You can vote (no sign in, no joining or anything ... just click and vote) at Scrapbook Awards, "Best Dad."  Thank you.

Have A Crafty Day!
