Generations of Strong Women

My mother's family is well known for the strength of the women in her family.  This strength is attributed to the generation before them and before them.  This photo is of my great grandmother, my grandmother, my Aunt, her daughter, and lastly, her daughter.  Each one with their story of strength and survival.

Great Grandma and Grandma raised many children on farms, carving out of this country their own richness of spirit, strength, and inspiring a faith, a work ethic and love of family to each of their children. My aunt lost her husband in Vietnam while pregnant with her youngest.  She raised all the children with dignity and pride.   She demonstrated strength that only this woman could have while dealing with her own health issues.  Martha lost her husband to cancer and little Diane lost her father early in life.  Strength is part of who we are, it's a part of me.

12 Days of Home for the Holidays
Right now I think this tremendous blog event has become one of the biggest of the 12 Days of the Home for the Holidays online event.  It's a true celebration of 5 years of sharing and celebrating.  The guest list is astounding, a new feature of the event is one you do not want to miss, and the number of sponsors continue to grow.  Are you ready for December Holidays yet?  Me neither, but I'm getting there.  If you are looking for some outstanding ideas for the holidays check out the archives at the top of the blog.
