Rescued and Altered, Christmas Home Decor

During the move of my son and his wife I found an old wooden frame in the "throw away" bag.  I thought "Surely, I can make something from this."

I stripped off the old items from the frame and set aside the glass.  I closed my eyes and thought of Christmas decor.  One song we love to sing every Christmas is The 12 Days of Christmas, but no one ever remembers the order of the gifts in which "my true love gave to me."  I thought it would be fun to have a "cheat sheet" hanging near the tree.

Graphic 45's paper collection The 12 Days of Christmas is perfect for this project and I get to have fun cutting out all the details. (Click on photo to see the details.)

Let's Break It Down
Graphic 45 12 Days of Christmas
Blue Fern Studios Lamp Post
May Arts Ribbon glittered ribbon
Ranger embossing ink, black embossing powder, Stickles xmas and frosted
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo, metal fitted corners
Fiskars Micro-Tip Scissors
X-ACTO Series Z craft knife
Core'dinations vintage yellow
Recollections glittered wire
Wilton doily

I chose scenes of merriment and celebration as the focus.

The 12 Days of Christmas is surely romantic.
I love the Blue Fern Lamp Post.  It turned out to be just the right touch for this project as well as fitting right into the theme of the piece.

Everyone is gearing up for Halloween and here I am dreaming of Christmas.  It's my favorite time of the year as a crafter, a grandmother, and a Christian.  It is a time to celebrate.

Have a Crafty Day!
