An Amazing Tutorial From Core'dinations ... 12 Days of Home for the Holidays Sponsor

Hello, my name is Debby and I am a Hard Core Crafter!  I was at the Craft and Hobby Association Trade Show when Core'dinations debuted their amazing paper.  I have a collection now and can't get enough of it.  Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock is a new sponsor for 12 Days of Home for the Holidays

Design Team member Shaunte Wadley has been designing with Core for years.  These are incredible home decor projects.  I also know she made one for Thanksgiving as well. You can find her 2013-14 Design Team introduction for Core'diantions HERE.  Please click on the images to get a full view of these beautiful projects.

Take two nesting craft punches from Fiskars (6 point flower) and punch a sheet of our red Core Couture Core'dinations cardstock.
The great thing about the Core Couture paper is that it is already glittery. The glitter added some glamor to the poinsettia flowers for the topiary.

Layer the flowers, small on top of the larger, and attach them to a 3" Styrofoam ball using a gold tipped straight pin.
When the Styrofoam ball is filled, insert a gold painted wooden dowel, and insert the finished topiary into desired container.
I tied the topiary with some ribbon from May Arts. I wanted the filler on the top of my container to perfectly match the ribbon- so I matched some green Core'dinations cardstock to the ribbon, and then using some specialty scissors, I created some fringe out of cardstock. A quick crumple of the fringe made it custom shred for the bottom of my container.

Then, I just hot-glued the fringe into the bottom of the container. Use a die cut to wrap the bottom of the container with some Core'dination Gemstone Cardstock in pearl, it has a subtle shimmer to it, and adds some elegance to the project!

For the Ornaments- it was easy to perfectly match the topiary, since all of the lines of Core'dination Cardstock go together. I chose to use some Jillian Dot for the green ornament- it matched the faux shred I made, some pre-embossed Core Impressions in the same red as the poinsettias, and I chose the pearl gemstone for the larger ornament.

To create the ornaments- just punch six circles using a craft punch for each ornament. Then, the circles are folded in half, and hot glued into place.

To make the ornament top- Take a border punch, and some Core'dinations Glittersilk cardstock. Cut the border into smaller sections, and rolled them into the ornament topper. To finish the ornament, bend some craft wire into ornament hooks. Repeat for all three ornaments.
Thank you Core'dinations for being one of the generous sponsors of 12 Days of Home for the Holidays and to Shaunte for the amazing Topiary and Ornament projects.

Have a Crafty Day!

This is such a cute and adorable idea...I was wondering if the paper comes in vintage styles...had an idea for making some Thanksgiving ones for center pieces for our Thanksgiving Dinner at the church and using them on the tables and then giving each family one to take home at the end of the dinner...What do you think Debbie?
