Number 1 Element for Your Layout

No matter the paper, the chipboard, bling, paint, and ink my number one element for my layouts are the photos.  I would love for all my photos be taken in a professional matter, but they are not.  Some photos are from the 30's, 40's 50's 60's, etc.  Some are of professional quality and some of blurry.  Many of the memories captured are happy, but some reflect the funny and sad part of living.  No matter, the focal point must be your photo.

Making your photo the number one focal point is hard for me because I love the variety of papers and more.  I want to play and create.  If you are like me you can get carried away with all the products available to us.  Now this is not to say we shouldn't paint, ink, add elements, but we can't forget bring focus to the photo.  Again this can be a real challenge to me.

This is a photo of my daughter and granddaughter (Little).  It is a selfie ... a new category in for scrapbooked photos!

  1. I'd have to agree with you, my number one element is my pics. Love the layout, and how the pic is nestled down in the embellishments.

  2. So beautiful, Debby! Yes, my photos are the focal point of my crafting. I use the rest (meaning embellishments) to help tell the story and add a creative aspect as well.
