Answering the Challenge From Paper Issues!

Paper Issues, an online store and community via Facebook, "issues" different challenges throughout each month.  Lisa Swift posted this month's sketch on her blog "Remember the Good Times."  I told her I would give it a shot.

So I twisted it and flipped it until I think I got just the right view of the sketch to create my layout.

This is a photo my dad took of me!  Yes, I am calling myself in my layout "gorgeous."  At that age I certainly was gorgeous but I didn't know it.  Isn't that the way it always is?

Here is the sketch as I used it:
My foundation is Julie Nutting's French Flea Market.  I tried a bit of mixed media by using a crunched up plastic bag (or part of one) and dipped into my ink and tapped it around the page.  Nope, didn't like it, but I will practice it again and learn more about it.  I did ink Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edge of the paper.

You can see my Tim Holtz idea-oligy chit-chat pieces I used for journaling.

My ribbon stash became my "ribbon" extending from the bottom.

My Prima flower become the circle.

When you turn the sketch around at the angle I did, the top of the layout has nothing.  I tried to walk away from it, but I could not.  LOL  I added the title "Hello gorgeous."  It was originally one piece.  I cut around the "Hello" for one word then fussy cut around the word "gorgeous" in more detail for the second word.  I like how the title turned out.

Here is the original sketch if you want to take up the challenge.  "Link your finished project to the Sketchy Saturday album in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook group by June 4th to be in the running for a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store." (Quotes from Lisa at "Remember the Good Times.")  There are a lot of challenges so make sure to scroll down to this challenge to post your "answer" to the sketchy challenge.

I hope I see you there!  Let me know in the comments when you post your "answer" to Paper Issue's Challenge.  I will make sure to look for it.
