Story
Little was about 3 years old in this photo. She loves the lorikeets and adores feeding them even now at 6.
Notables
Mixed Media: Gessoed my chipboard leaves (Wendy Vecchi), sprayed to cover with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist light green.
After it dried I peeled off two of the layers...will use again...and curled up another small layer. I painted the inside part of the leaves with Fine Touch paint, Grass Green.
Accented the chipboard leaves with a gold chain (trying to use up some of my products).
I made a "flick it" mix with Fine Touch white paint and Cracked Pistachio distress ink by inking my mat and mixing in the paint. I added water to the mix and flicked the mixture onto the leaves and surrounding part of the page.
Using the bottom tip of the Glimmer Mist I added a touch of shine to the flowers on the left. I also added Ranger's Liquid Pearls.
Add Tim Holtz Picket Fence Distress Paint to the metal bird (TH Adornments). Let it set for a few minutes. Use your finger to remove excess paint leaving an accent of paint.
Fussy Cut
I cut out the bird adhering it to the paper with pop dots. The little butterfly is cut from a different Graphic 45 collection.
Texture
The burlap is a cut from burlap banners. Buttons and flowers all add depth and texture.
Magic
Magical and fun. I found free clip art of a long fern leaf. I added it to my Photoshop Elements program. Measuring and printing a few copies until it was what I wanted. Using bits and pieces of the paper collection I printed the image.
Basically, I print the image on a plain piece of paper. Carefully place the Graphic 45 piece on the printed image and tape the edges making sure NOT to place it where the ink it going to print. Then just print.
I used my EK Success black pen to go back over the details of the printed images. Yeah...I love it.
Another piece I added to the layout was a few of my photos of just the lorikeets on the Bo Bunny sticker filmstrip. It already has a design printed on the film, but I think it just adds to the layout.
Can you imagine how much fun I'm having! I love what I do. I love my grandkids. I hope both show in my work.
