hAppiness Vintage Dad and Bo Bunny, Mixed Media

Being new to mixed media on a scrapbook page I am always looking for ways to enhance my layout with paints, pastes, tips and tricks.  I'm a little closer today.  I am not comfortable yet but I am having fun.

Photo of my Dad in 1958.
This is a photo taken of my Dad in 1958 while in Olsen, Japan.  To me my dad was the most handsome man I could image with a soft spirit.
Notables
Bo Bunny Country Garden (this is an older collection from Bo Bunny that I purchased a friend's yard sale...but isn't it just as awesome today?)
Finnabair/Prima Patina Effect Paste collection
Prima flowers
Tim Holtz  Elementary Flashcards, compass idea-ology, Tiny Attacher, tags, diamond stamps and mixed media thinlit, Distress Ink vintage photo and walnut stain, stars, gumdrops, roses, happiness stamp and other stamps (how would I create without Tim?  LOL)
Blue Fern Studios leftover letters from a set of chipboard that I saved.
Fiskars "TIME" stamp, written phrase stamp (top right) from "Stick"
Other odds and ends

That's a lot of "stuff" but I used leftovers several times and stamps which are of course reusable.
The tags on the left side are from a unique project I have been working on.  They were my mistakes.  I usually save my "mistakes" in hopes of using them in another project.  This turned out to be the perfect project to use HALF the tag.  I saved the other halves.

I enhanced the word "happiness" by adding Blue Fern Studios leftover alphabet letter "A".
I ran the Journey Flashcards through an embossing folder. It did weaken the paper, but I was determined to use them.  I inked the cards with Vintage Photo and wiped off the excess carefully.  As I added the adhesive it was too much pressure and "today" came apart.  It looks like "make" was about to do the same.  I wasn't throwing them away so since it matched the style I went for it.  Not bad!
I anchored the photo with flowers and metal pieces (stars and compass) adding "R" into the mix.
Two notables:
Butterfly is fussy cut from the Bo Bunny Paper.  I stamped the "shadow" butterfly directly to the paper.  I used the Finnabair Patina Effect Paste collection to give my butterflies (top and bottom) a bit of mixed media flair.

"Time" is stamped directly on the paper.  On a clear transparency I created a "circle" using a paper towel roll and black paint.  I cut out the circle and used Glossy Accent to adhere it over the "Time" stamp.
I inked the background with Tim's Mustard Seed distress ink. Behind the photo is the top of a leftover tag.  The row of stickers is from this collection, sanded and inked.
The torn edged papers are left overs from tearing the left side paper.
The diamonds are from Tim Holtz mixed media thinlits.  I cut them apart and added Picket Fence paint.

Beautiful paper collection with a bit of mixed media, elements, embellishments, and "leftovers" are a perfect mix for Dad's photo.  Maybe this can become more comfortable for me as I do more.

Do you create full on with mixed media or do your dabble?
