Blurry Photos? I Don't Care!

In pre-digi days it wasn't easy for the "household" photographer to always get that perfectly focused shot.  I have a lot of vintage/retro photos from the late 60's and 70's.  It was about the time that Kodachrome came out and suddenly color was the thing.  Somehow the quality of photos diminished during that period as well.

Here's the question:  Do I scrapbook them or not?

I don't want to lose the stories of my teen years, so I'm not really going to "care" if my photos from that time are blurry.  Some scrappers work hard try to do something creative to hide the blurriness.  Nope, I putting mine out there for my family and friends see.  LOL

This is a layout of when I was 17 years old living in Florida and we had a big snow storm.  I discovered I looked cute in snow clothes.  Until I did this layout I really thought the top photo was of my mom and brother.  I should have figured the time period and age of my brother, but he and Dad look so much alike in this photo.

Most of the products I used are not really in the "older" part of my stash.  The paper collection is from Fancy Pants Winterland.  The flower and bling are from Prima.  I made epoxy embellishments with Epiphany Crafts Round 25 tool and caps. The lettering is a bit older from Making Memories.  The metal snowflake is Tim Holtz Idea-ology.
I used my Dymo label maker to add a bit of creative journaling.  The name of everyone in the photos are on the striped paper. The event and year are on the light pattered paper with a bit of Paint Dabber Snow Cap from Ranger.
Here is the oldest thing from my stash.  Does anyone remember these?  LOL  I have had these in my stash and set aside since the first year I started scrapping.  I found the idea in Scrapbook etc. and I've loved using old negatives since.

Lesson
Don't cut paper when you are exhausted and it's three in the morning.  Wow. what a mess I made of this several times.

  7. I'm loving the older photos. I have a box with some from my child hood and I challenge myself to scrap one every once in a while too.

So you used the old dymo right on the paper?

  8. I love this, and I love how you used the label maker and the negatives! As for scrapping old blurry photos, heck if I didn't scrap them, I wouldn't have any of my youth. It seems no one in my family could take a decent photo except my brother, who lucked up and took a photo class at school! Love Penny Scrap-aholic@blogspot.com

  9. this is really cool Debbie, and I love that you used the real negative strips. I also have a number of old photos that are not tack sharp. I use them anyway. It's all I've got from that time frame and so you use what you have. Good for you doing it too!
