Handyman's Holiday Hop: Celebrating Hanukkah Altered Paint Brush

Welcome to the beginning of the Handyman's Holiday Hop.  There is so much creativity along the hop that will certainly encourage and inspire you for this holiday season.

Thanks to our sponsors we have some wonderful giftaways.  Check the end of the post for details.

Hanukkah
I'm not Jewish, but I have family that is.  I watch them as they celebrate the lighting of the candles, their prayers, and songs.  It is a wonderful celebration of God's working in His people.  I created my altered brush in honor of them.
Notables
3" Brush
→Gesso entire brush with Finnabair's white gesso.
→Handle created with Basic's Modeling Paste, Brea Reese Texture Pebbles, and Texture Sand.  Once dry use your hot glue gun to create "hot glue" strings and wrap them around the brush while slowly squeezing the trigger.
→Middle portion of the brush was created with Basic's Modeling Paste mixed with Brea Reese Texture Pebbles and silver metallic paint.  I created a few thin sheets of white Sculpey Oven-Bake Clay and broke/cut them apart.  I used Ranger's Alcohol Inks to color the pieces and adhered them to the finished, dried foundation layer.  I did go back and repaint the background with the silver paint.  Mixing the silver with the modeling paste dulled the silver.
→Bottom of the brush is acrylic paint blue and I added 8...4 on each side...clay candles.  The candles were created using oven-baked clay rolled up with a white thread in the middle then adding Ranger Silver Stickles. The light makes it look like the stickles are not all the way around...they are.
→Flowers are from Prima.  I added Tim Holtz Distress Glitter with a silver metallic thread twisted around the cluster.  →The Star of David is a die cut from Impression Obsession using silver glitter paper. →"Light" painted with blue acrylic paint, sanded, glue to the die cut.  →The flame was created a using a clip art pattern found online and oven-baked clay.
Both sides of the brush are identical.
(Thank you Tabitha Safdi Photography for the photos.)

Fun and challenging.  Advice:  take a class in oven-baked clay before playing with it.  LOL
