Everyday Techniques: Leftovers and Tiny Pieces with December Daily Part 7

I have been so frugal using my Bo Bunny Christmas Carousel paper collection that I believe I am going to have nearly a whole pack left over (I purchased 2 packs).  It is so much fun to use those small pieces from one page to the next.  I am a hoarder of "little pieces" of paper.  My goal is to start using a lot of those pieces.  I found what better way to add those finishing or creative touches than with a tiny piece of "leftovers."

Tim Holtz Typed Token Christmas, Typography Christmas, Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Jingle Bells brad
Buttons, Sequins, ribbon

The use of the sequins in a circle is nothing new, but I will warn them down!  The more my page moves the more they would come off.  I went back and added a bit more and stronger glue, but to assure yourself they will stay take a few moments and add the thread.

You can see the little leftover in several places including gingerbread items from another line…

Mixed Media with December Daily, Part 6

YES!  I finally edged out a page with more mixed media.

Bo Bunny Christmas Carousel
Tim Holtz stamp (trees), Distress Inks Spun Sugar, Gathered Twigs and Pine Needles, Stamp/Stencil  Watercolor Butterfly Set
Sizzix Winter Deer Thinlet
Spellbinders Building Snowman
Golden Glass Bead Gel
Aleene's Glitter Snow

Cover the whole page with Gesso.
Using Tim Holtz's stencil add Glass Bead Gel and let dry.
Because it dries clear rub on Spun Sugar Distress Ink.

Add stamps.  The tree trunk of the stamp is shorter than shown.  I just stamped the trunk twice, hiding where they come together under the photo.

Adhere photo and snowman die cut.

Use a spatula to add the glitter snow.  Let dry.

Add deer.  I use a mixed media medium to adhere to the snow.

Fussy cut flower and bell from Bo Bunny.  Add corner and Washi tape.

Simple Techniques for Quick Pages, December Daily Part 5

I'm in the stretch with my pages.  These are more pages with simple techniques that you can use year 'round.  I haven't posted my pages in any particular order of date.
Bo Bunny Christmas Carousal paper collection, sticker border from Safari paper collection
Amercian Craft Thickers
Tim Holtz Oxide Ink Broken Glass, chit chat words
OI Star of David die cut
Prima flowers

I brushed a bit of Broken China Oxide Ink over the glittery title.

This was fun!  I have no idea where the metal flower came from.  I backed it with a translucent, plastic "paper."  Using Ranger's Glossy Accents laid down glue where I wanted to accent the flowers then poured in Martha Stewart's microbeads.  Dried and shook off access.  Some of the beads landed on the paper.   Accidental accents!

The scalloped border is from Bo Bunny's Safari.  It had a spotted leopard design.  I sanded it down a bit and added Mustard Seed Distress Ink.  Turned out cool.

Technique Twists with December Daily Part 4

One bright, cheerful, celebratory.  Another golden angelic.  Two 8 x 8 pages to add to my December Daily Album and many more techniques that YOU can add to any layout.

Wish, Joy, Magic
The Nutcracker weekend is over.  Ms. Regina Willoughby, principal dancer for Columbia City Ballet and the girls dance teacher gathered together her students for a final photo on the stage and a moment of pride for Ms. Regina and all the children.

Fiskars scalloped border punch

I saw a similar technique with the straws using twine...I decided to hook onto the idea but used washi tape instead adding Tim Holtz's jingle bell brads and flashcards.

I fussy cut the graphic from Bo Bunny's Carousel.  The "ribbon" and "candy cane" are one piece.  I added Tim Holt's chitchat. I love this color combo from Bo Bunny!

December Daily Keeps Rollin' On, Part 3

I believe my theme with these layouts is layering.  Many innovated and heartwarming themes.  Intrigued?  Let look.

Merry and Bright

Tim Holtz lamp post die, "Merry" "Bright, chitchat words, reindeer
Prima flower

Mention of a funny.  I found the metal tray in the photo at a thrift shop.  It caught my attention as unusual and familiar.  Later I was going through my saved Facebook posts and found a post from months ago where a crafter made a clock from this same try.  Familiar.  LOL
The ampersand is from an old pack of Making Memories letters.  But look at all those layers on an 8 x 8 page.  "It ain't easy."  LOL, I am using a lot of paper that was left after cutting my 12 x 12 to an 8 x 8.
Reindeers continue to pop up everywhere.  I added glitter to the flower and paint/Stickles to the holly leaves.
I used Core'dinations for the lamp post and sanded around the edges.

The trick with thin dies and glitter card…
