A Little Halloween Cutie!

Image
Busy, crazy and in love with life.  That's me right now.  I am working on several projects for Halloween, but here is one from when Little was little.  This was her third Halloween.

Want Some?
Little was trying to share her lollipop with daddy.

I still have some Pink Paislee Vintage Moon Collection from some time ago.  This was/is one of my all time favorite Halloween collections.  It was the perfect Halloween paper without all the scary stuff.  Great for princesses or in this case Tinker Bell.

I hadn't heard from Pink Paislee for awhile and wondering where they are and what's up.  Well, they are still in business with some beautiful collections.  Check their blog Pink Paislee and Facebook.

This is my granddaughter Ali waiting for her Sunday School teacher.  This was cowboy and boots week.  Around here a little cool weather and all the boots come out.

Inspirations Friday

Image
I thought I would try and designate Friday to share with you a few crafty inspirations I have come across on the internet throughout the week.

Fall or Autumn, according to where you are from, is upon us so Autumn Inspiration it is.

From Mark Montano's Facebook page:  Stacked, pleated card stock from Carol Speake.

Spooky Food from Pillsbury:  Walking Mummy Dogs

How about a free printable from Digital Antiques?

Please download from Digital Antiques and not here.  Their post is older but the work is incredible.  Leave them some love as well.

Lastly, my photo of the week:

Three of my grands at their first spooky corn maze.  This was the end of the corn maze and they picked out their own mini pumpkin.  Little MJ thought this was the best treat in the world.  He was booking it to make sure no one changed their mind.  LOL

Prayers to all is the wake of Hurricane Matthew.

3 & 4 September, Going Out With A Bang

Image
Yep, tomorrow is the end of September.  Now starts the fun!

It has been too hot for many activities here in South Carolina.  The cool weather is coming and it is time for the ballet season, theater season, Halloween and Christmas activities AND the Nutcracker.

I said I wanted to finish posting the 4th of July layouts before October so here are the last two.

Little with her American Flag ... she is certainly proud to be an American!   FYI:  she is VERY independent.  LOL

2 of 4 Have You Ever Collaborated On a Scrapbook Layout?

Image
I guess I have two collaborations on this layout.  This is 2 of 4 Fourth of July layouts using Bo Bunny's Firecracker collection and Paper Issues July Sketch Challenge.

The best collaboration is between me and two of my granddaughters ages 3 and 5.  I was working on this fabulous layout of their cousin when they begin to say things like "Mimi, what if I punched out a star and put it here?"  Or "I can help with the diamonds (sequins)."

My educational philosophy is you learn best by doing.  So here we are.  A scrapbook layout collaboration by Mimi, Rae and Em.

Bo Bunny:  paper, stickers, tag
Tim Holtz Idea-ology:  clear stars
Tim Holtz Ranger:  Distress Ink Vintage Photo

Bo Bunny Firecracker with Paper Issues Sketch

Image
September is nearly gone, Fall has started and I'm in July trying to do a little catch up with my seasons.  I thought I would share over the next week 4 layouts I did with Bo Bunny's Firecracker collection and Paper Issues July sketch challenge.  For me a sketch never goes out of style!

Freedom
Em loves the beach and for her and her sister the American Flag is the most special flag!

Here is the sketch I used from Paper Issues:
Bo Bunny's Firecracker is so much fun to work with.  If you haven't started your layouts from Memorial Day, Veterans Day, 4th of July, military pages and the list goes on... oh my goodness it is fun.

I also used
Thickers,
Fiskars star squeeze punch,
Tim Holtz/Sizzix flag die,
Tim Holtz/Ranger distress ink, Vintage Photo,
Prima rhinestones,
Glitz Design tiny alpha
Vintage Stree Market Tinted Tape
Tim Holtz/Idea-ology stars.

Check out Sunday/Monday post for more Bo Bunny Firecracker... I need to hurry so I can get into my Halloween fun!

Use It or Lose It ... A Birthday Layout

Image
I can only share where part of these products come from that make up my layout.  Maybe you know?

My Little is 5 years old now and growing up faster each day.

I have stashes of paper I no longer know what company made them.  I still love them, but I know that I need to use as much as I can.
Makes room for the fresh stuff.  The danger of not using what you have now, is it goes "out of style."  That makes it difficult to motivate yourself to use the early products when you are so eager to move on with new styles, techniques and ideas.I end up donating it (which is not bad, but I bought it for a reason), sell it or let it sit right where it is stored.   My challenge to you:  dig it out, use the old and new mixed together and make room for the new, best and brightest products!

Let me see if I can remember some of the products.
Cardstock:  American Crafts
Butterflies:  Graphic 45
Sticker letters:  Webster's Pages
Prima flowers and buttons

First Look at Santa -- Christmas Layout

Image
Little MJ's first closeup look at Santa Claus.  No screaming, just real curiosity.

Graphic 45 paper and embellishments; Thickers silver letters, Basic Grey brads, Tim Holtz's Idea-ology tinsel and Vintage Photo distress ink.   Not sure, but probably inspired by someone crafty.

I know it is not Christmas, but it is time to get your Christmas papers and embellishments ready for those scrap-able moments.   For those of you that are card makers, I suppose you have nearly all your cards finished.  Right?  One day I am going to become a card maker, but not this Christmas.

I have already compiled my books, paper and most embellishments for my December Daily albums.  I did, however, see some new Tim Holtz stamps I am going to have to buy.

Check out Tim's blog for more delicious Christmas products.

On the run the week with so many exciting adventures that await.  Have a great day!

It's a New Season for Ballet!---4 Layouts

Image
I love watching my little grands dancing on what they call "the BIG stage."  Little was able to dance in the Nutcracker Suite for Columbia City Ballet last year.  Soon my three smallest girls will give it a shot to dance on the BIG stage.

Of course recitals ended their year in May and Mimi is not going to miss an opportunity to scrapbook their day.
Little as Red Riding Hood This one loves the stage.  It was her third recital at only 5 years old.  Never any fear of getting up on the BIG stage and dancing.  She talks of dancing from her heart.

Bo Bunny, Graphic 45, Prima, Tim Holtz, My Minds Eye, Blue Fern Studio chipboard, Ranger Perfect Pearls, Heidi Swapp, Martha Stewart, Recollections and Faber Castell. It is hard to tell but it is gold micro-beads on the skirt of the ballerina.
Ali as one of the lions of Lion King This little grandgirl reminds me of the photo of all the little girls standing in a row in ballet class but the last one is climbing and hanging from the bar. …

Yeah, I'm Still Around Crafting Away

Image
I have had several comments on whether or not I was still crafting.  Of course I am!

I just finished a summer long project teaching my 5 and 3 year old grandgirls how to scrapbook.  They each completed a book about their summer.

Em's Book
The hardest part for Em and Little was to learn how to make the roller adhesive work.  But they got really good at it.  The hardest part for me was to leave it alone when they started designing the pages themselves.

Little's Book
By the end she figured out picture placement and that you can add embellishments without covering up the pictures.  I learned, once again, it's their book and let them be their own creative self.  It worked wonderfully.

I finally got around to creating two books for my grandgirls telling the story of their adventure last October at the Storybook Ball.

Few of Ali's Pages
I do a whole different style when creating their books.  This year the theme for creating their memory book from the Storybook Ball was glitter…

What Do You Do With The Ballet Shoes?

Image
I have three budding ballerinas and they go through the shoes.  I would be hard pressed to keep them all for memory sake.
Some I pass on, but a few I wanted to keep and alter.

Here is my first attempt.  I like how they turned out.

Lace, ribbon and beaded trim are from Hobby Lobby.  Buttons from Tim Holtz. Butterfly from Blue Fern Studios  Roses from Recollection.  Paper for sole, title "Learn to fly" and butterflies from Graphic 45. Other
Adhesive:  E6000
Pen: Sakura Gelly Roll Stardust Ink:  Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink Ranger Gold embossing powder Tim Holtz Spun Sugar Distress Paint
I am nearly finished with the second pair of shoes and can't wait to get started on number 3.
In the meanwhile....get crafty with it and try something new! Debby

Xyron Sticker Maker for a Happy Birthday!

Image
It has been forever since I've tried recording a demo.  So I am asking for forgiveness ahead of time in hopes you will watch and help me wish a Happy Birthday to a special little girl in my life.

This is not a Xyron sponsored video or promotion.  It's just me enjoying my craft.

Tehya, I can't wait to see what you turn into a sticker first.
Everyone else, how do you use your Xryon Sticker Maker?

Dusting Off The Blog A Bit

Image
Follow the story and I will tie it together at the end!

I received a beautiful handmade card for Christmas from a Fiskateer friend.  Since the closing of Fiskars' social community we rarely stay in touch so this card means a lot to me.  One thing he hoped for me was that I was still crafting.

I have been away from my blog for a little over a year.  Honestly, I had/have "blog burn out."  It is a lot of work to create a crafty blog post...writing, taking and editing photos, products, editing, online events, promotions and getting the word out.

Now I have another grandchild.  Our first little boy:  MJ.  I spend a lot of time "making memories" for me and for all my grandchildren.  I hang out with my grandchildren at music, (now violin) ballet, tap, recitals, performances, museums and many other adventures.
Little's Brother MJ Knowing some of you I can hear "...and what's new?"  LOL  I know I seem as though I am always busy.  Maybe I am to one deg…
